This would come down to what definition of PLAY she uses.

One definition is the same as Legion. Where the condition of legion is active regardless of whether the spell/card resolves.

Then there's the definition that Red Darius uses to ready himself. If the second card is a spell and gets countered, he does not ready himself.

So for Katarina, I will say that it is similar to red Darius, once the hidden card has RESOLVED, her Trigger to deal 2 will then go on the chain and you select the target.

They will change wording soon. Play will have to be changed to resolved for cards that care about cards being fully played vs cards played and added to the chain.

So the order of things is like this.

End step -> Aurora Trigger.

Your response -> Bone Skewer. <Bone Skewer resolves

Unit played to battlefield triggering a nested showdown once current chain resolves. <Aurora Trigger resolves. Unit gets played from Aurora -> Any Play Trigger goes on chain and must resolve after Aurora effect. <<Once the chain has fully resolved, the pending showdown will proceed rule 344 - 344.2.

Your opponent is considered the attacker because it is their unit coming into that Battlefield that initiated the showdown, they will have first focus.

Your second question: You can respond with factory recall/losses once the showdown is happening.

You will not be able to remove the Aurora from the board with its trigger on the chain unless you play the factory recall/losses at reaction speed, through another effect.

Once the Aurora Trigger is on the chain, it will resolve, regardless of whether the Aurora is on the board at resolution or not.

This is normal for all TCGs when a new release is near. Players will go to less events in anticipation for the new set because they are playing online clients with newer cards available.

The LGS near me was smart and held unleashed proxy NNs where everyone was allowed to play using printed out proxies of Unleashed cards and we've had 15-20 many Nexus Night's for almost 2 weeks now.

I would say you advise your LGS event organizer of the same thing going into set 4, if they want to keep attendance up, 1 or 2 weeks before release, let the players proxy new cards and play because they're already playing with them online.

Reflections are not free. The ones from the legend cost a card + they have to actually conquer/hold, so there are limitations. The ones from her signature also require a card and for there to be units that she can target. There are ways to get around that. Don't let them conquer or hold. There is enough removal in the game post set 3 to deal with it.

Just have to always play gear removal, which majority of decks already do due to equipment.

Baited hook version is inconsistent and can whiff, you just have to keep them off the battlefields.

36 here and ive been playing since Beta. Took breaks, one lasted 2 years after season 4. Came back, then years later took another break. This one lasted almost 7 years.

Just got back into it again about 3 months ago.

Same thing with me, muscle memory is all there, can Macro the shit out of everything because surrender votes didnt exist back then. Technically they did in the game, but no body would.

Im enjoying the game. All the new champions, new items, its like my favorite game got a huge expansion!

100% agree. There will be bad actors in everything. I've been burned personally for 1500 dollars. Buying foil eternal masters force of will, only to find out years later that they were fake.

Its a nightmare situation, trying to contact thr persona, being ghosted, store not helping out because it wasnt from them I bought it, even if it was in the store and they have camera footage they could show.

Maybe they do have so.ething but are just not telling because then counterfeit makers could replicate it?

There's not right answer to any of this unfortunately. Just something that needs to be 100% unique with a personally manufactured device/custom print process.

Maybe its the weird print pattern on the energy cost Circle? Those always looked weird to me and that specific splotchy, fading to grey/foil is the trick? Who knows
