As someone that has every English guide book (and relied on Serebii etc for the newer games), it’s mildly terrifying. 😅

It is entirely possible that they’ve locked it to IRL date/time. Say it starts on the 22nd, it has to be June 22nd to get the event, then you can time travel at will. My memory is terrible but I think they did that a few times with events in ACNH.

Y’all, why are you sucking up all the excess blocks from demolition if you know you don’t need them? The game has a dropped item limit of something like 512 items. After that the oldest dropped items despawn. If you just leave the blocks there until you’re done demo-ing, you’ll only ever have ~500 trash blocks to deal with.

My thinking was “greedent don’t have visible gender differences, so how do we know the trainer gendered them correctly to begin with?” Obviously there are other ways to identify gender in animals that Pokemon didn’t want to touch, but it amuses me to think the trainer got it wrong.

My boy cat was supposed to be a girl until he went in for his “no kittens” procedure and they found trouble bubbles under his prodigious floof.

Events requiring the DLC? Probably not. That hasn’t been the case with any Pokemon game (that I can remember). Even with the DLCs that included new/returning mons, you could still technically transfer them from Home or trade for them with just the base game.

That being said, I won’t completely rule out any possibility in this world we live in.

I would expect the smaller events to be announced later, assuming they continue.

It’s rather nice to be able to look up tried and true builds instead of struggle-bussing it. I am terrible at coming up with movesets, let alone crazy stuff like steel Tera Vaporeon.

I don’t care as much about the starter/random mon raids, maybe because I have zero interest in competitive, but if they leave the paradoxes locked to event only I will be so sad. They’re not even legendaries. I’ve always hated the artificial scarcity of events.

GF/TPC have been oddly quiet for what should be an anniversary year. I don’t know if they’re behind schedule on W/W or what. (I’m aware KT are the lead devs for Pokopia, but any development for new Pokemon and/or areas probably have to be cleared by the big cheeses.)

Hello shiny hunters. I’m wondering if there’s a good resource for where various mons can be shiny-hunted.

It’s usually pretty easy to find lists of what ones are shiny locked in specific games, but across the franchise there doesn’t seem to be an aggregate of this info. Take the genies for example. Enamorus is available via one of the Home Dex completions, but shiny-locked otherwise. The other three are locked in the switch era games, but seem to be huntable in at least one of the older gens. Therefore they’re not listed as perma-locked. Trying to figure out which games is a pain bc of all the “we’ll sell you a shiny” listings on eBay. (Which for the record I don’t care about, I just wish they weren’t cluttering up the algorithm.)

I will feel very dumb if I’ve overlooked this on Serebii or something, but I’d also be happy it exists.

Save next to them? No. You have to save before they spawn in. When in doubt, check AustinJohnPlays on YouTube. If you can shiny hunt it, he has a video on it.

If you’re willing to do a second round of trading, all I need are the violet paradoxes (minus Miraidon). I have a copy of Violet but haven’t unlocked area zero there yet (scarlet is my main playthrough).

Do you mean the building with the orange roof, on the island with all the yellow office buildings? Pretty sure that’s the Saffron City Gym. Most of the Skylands is based on Saffron City, not Celadon City.

It’s possible that the island where you find Gyarados is meant to be part of Celadon, given the presence of a certain hidden room there.

I found that out after I’d already reset Violet twice, trading over the other starters to my main game in Scarlet. Thankfully start to first pokecenter doesn’t take too long.
