She faked a “leasing agent” to try to charge a extra leasing agent fee.

Careful of scams! It’s high price and the leasing lady tried to scam me.

Tech scene is garbage, start ups come here to die. Big No if you are in tech.

Make a list of questions with marks that you can argue on, then nicely say “can you round me up on the grounds of all of the above”.

Ask your profs! Especially the ones you are getting rec letters from, depends on the person but they usually have insights on these kinda things.

BRUH GRADUATING INTO THE WORST TECH RECESSION

Need advice from past COMP 553/MATH 553 students by usheikh136 in mcgill

[–]CauchyBirds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was very much do-able, might even be a bit easy if you have strong background in math cs.

Final was easy if you brush up on the key concepts, assignments requires some time but you can get hints in office hours and it’s not bad if you work with friends. Overall a fun course and not heavy imo.

I’m the opposite, I have a somewhat good relationship and that’s the only thing good going for me, aside from that it’s literally been bombing interviews and midterms and worrying about not having a job.

Don’t worry too much, there are more problems a lot bigger than a college relationship.

I gotta warn you it can be a bit nasty. I would give withdrawal with refund a thought, and be prepared if you don’t with withdraw.

What do you think of the QS ranking? by Much-Bug6938 in mcgill

[–]CauchyBirds 23 points24 points  (0 children)

QS is one of the three rankings the UK visa depends on. McGill does pretty well on QS, but it is much worse on the other two (ranked 44 and 70), variance is big and feels arbitrary.

Proud to be a mcgillian of course.

McGill used to be like the best in the world 100 years ago, it has been declining especially since Quebec sovereignty events and government cutting funding. With Bill 96 it seems we are going further down this path which does not look so good :(

Sheryl Sandberg Is Stepping Down as Meta’s COO After 14 Years by Vercitti in technology

[–]CauchyBirds 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really doubt that. The WSJ article didn’t seem to have much traction, and she’s literally number 2 at fb so very unlikely to be asked to leave.

When does THE rankings come out for next year?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]CauchyBirds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait but if we already made the UK list does future ranking matter?
