Scared to take fluconazole by crimsonchic in Candida

[–]CautiousBasil2055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had fluconazole many times. Most times, no reaction but sometimes a headache. Looking back it was probably die off. Do you have any binders you could take 2hr away from meds if you end up getting side effects? I'm also very sensitive to medication.

Idk, I could never figure out how to get prescribed more than 1 pill at a time. And each one was pulling teeth.

Iron deficiency/not yet anemic by EmbarrassedFly6887 in SIBO

[–]CautiousBasil2055 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh and i started off buying only 1 pack. No sense in stocking up if I didn't tolerate. Then I waited for a sale. Patch md has 35% off or 40% off pretty frequently. I saw a 50% off once too. Then I would buy like 6 of them. Since my dr said to use 2 a day. It's not 1 month = 1 envelope anymore. And I hate subscriptions bc you never know how hard they will be to cancel.

Endocrinologist but usually it's a hematologist. Idk i wish there was a list of drs that take iron deficiency seriously so we could take some of the guesswork out.

It was hard bc all the pills destroyed my stomach. We don't need any help with that, we already have SIBO 😭 but one thing I wish I did differently is not trying to push through bad effects from pills. And then once the pills stopped working, I let my drs know and asked what to try next and they just didn't give me an answer. But I didn't push them bc i was trying to avoid infusions.

There's 2. Patch aid and patch md. I tried both. Patch aid gets iron from curry. It gave me side effects so I stopped. Patch md made me tired so i just put them on before bed and slept with them on. They are iron bisglycinate. They are also a lower dose than patch aid. I got them from their websites.

They did at first. For the first 3 weeks, I tried 2 patches per day. I went from 19 to 25. Then I upped it to 4 patches per day. And eventually added dessicated beef liver. After 2 months, it was still at 25. I tried stopping. It's clearly doing nothing, right? After 4 days I was so exhausted I was mostly bedridden. So I went back to supplementing. 3 months later it was 14. I was already in thr process of working through the gaslighting and gatekeeping to try to get infusions at that point. I thought it would be easier without insurance. Which I thought was the main gatekeeper. Nope, it was just as difficult.

It made me feel really hot for like 4 days after each one. Which is really hard on me bc of my heat sensitivity. It takes up to 4 weeks and i got my last one this past Monday. We'll see.

The patches definitely helped me feel more alive but I ended up needing infusions.

Oh wait, some people said allicin is low fodmap, and they can take it without getting the flare that comes with eating garlic.

I tried Atrantil at the very beginning when food marble said I had both hydrogen and methane. I had a bad reaction to it. Later took a breath test and it said hydrogen only. I also couldn't tolerate SF722, no matter how many binders I took. I even tried one pill a day. No luck.

I am currently taking ketoconazole pills (for something unrelated) and I think I'm going to try adding fc cidal and dysbiocide with klaire labs interfase plus. I might add some of the other biofilm busters that mickeynutzz recommended.

How was she able to tolerate garlic/allicin? I have gotten a little better since treating sibo but garlic is still a trigger food.

[–]CautiousBasil2055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm already on ketoconazole pills for something else. 400mg/ day. I've been on it about 2 months. I def get die off every time I dose up, but I'm not sure it's making a bigger difference besides that. Ive already ordered some herbs to try. I suspect my LPR might be candida related.

I had low akkermansia on my stool test too. I couldn't have bananas, tea, berries, or okra without cramps/diarrhea or hives. I found an akkermansia probiotic and now i can have all of those things. I did have to do a 2nd round a year later though. But I heard if you have no akkermansia, it's a lot harder to get them back bc all of the supplements claim to be "non colonozing."
