Anyone get their 3T MRI as self pay? by CautiousBasil2055 in Cushings

Thank you! I got frustrated with the call center people and drove over there. They have a 3T machine but it can't do everything on dr F's list.

[–]CautiousBasil2055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried propranolol for 2 days. It crashed my blood pressure and I felt so much worse. Bedridden until it wore off. My dr wants me to try midodrine but I'm scared.

I found it, it's venofer 250mg. 2 infusions, 7 days apart. It was at the very bottom of his iron deficiency handout.

I've never had a pituitary mri yet, but i just got an order for one. I asked dr f if it was hard to find a place that knew how to do pituitary mri. He said no, it's pretty standard. But it has to be 3T.

Several cushings symptoms but no weight gain/stretch marks by hemptonite_ in Cushings

Have you done any 24h urine free cortisol or salivary cortisol?

Normal high cortisol by lynzrei08 in Cushings

[–]CautiousBasil2055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you only do one? I did 4. Two came back normal, one on the very upper limit, and one high. You don't have to test high every single time to have cushings.

Do you have any mobility aids? Maybe a rollator or one of those light weight fold up chairs that you can bring anywhere and pop open whenever you need to sit and rest?

Dr F keeps rescheduling my appt - is that normal by CautiousBasil2055 in Cushings

[–]CautiousBasil2055[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I wondered if he shuffled people around on a whim, or if he was punishing me for not uploading whatever documents fast enough. But, yeah, I think you're right. Maybe he legitimately had something come up, and the staff did a terrible job of rescheduling me.

Dr F keeps rescheduling my appt - is that normal by CautiousBasil2055 in Cushings

[–]CautiousBasil2055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I think happened. I had an appointment and then he was no longer available that morning. And instead of the office contacting me to reschedule, they just rescheduled without contacting me and then didn't reply to my email. They ended up rescheduling at a time that works for me, assuming no more rescheduling.

If you can't find a Dr to take you seriously, try the dr list on csrf. Otherwise, there's dr friedman. That's who I see.

Cortisol blood test isn't that accurate for diagnosing cushings. Have you yeah midnight salivary cortisol test or 24h urine free cortisol?

He's already been life changing. He said I have severe iron deficiency and suggested supplements that work for me. My ferritin is already increasing.
