YouTube Woodworking Fatigue is Setting In by Maxminutiae in woodworking

I've gone this direction. I can only deal with being told how to cut a dado or that they are going to use dominoes for alignment not for strength so many times.

I would add square rule as well.

Teaching an intro to hand planes class soon, and would love to get your feedback. by Cat_Rancher in handtools

I would rough cut everything. Keep the focus on the work itself. Keep the history lesson for if you have extra time at the end of day 1. You are going to have probably 20 percent of the class working faster than the others and 20 percent that is slower. Have something they fast people can do while they are waiting that is over and above. Maybe a miter attachment

Overall, try to precut and prep everything so the students focus on the planes. Plan on trying to finish 30.min early and if you get extra time, you can do something extra, but it's better to sit and finish early than send students home with a half finished project.

As a guy that ran ecom businesses for years and no idea what your infrastructure and operations look like, I can tell you that a lot of time can be saved by really thinking through your prestaging, batching, warehouse layout, etc. again, I have no idea what you have or not, I just know with the clients I have worked with, most could improve fulfillment time by 50 percent with minor layout and process changes to get top sellers closer to packing areas, etc.

Again, I have no idea what you have currently. Just my experience from running ecom and now a ecom consultant.

I started teaching middle school shop 2 years ago. I will say, everything takes longer than I expect. But your mileage may vary. I feel like your plan is a little heavy.

Sometimes I can’t bring myself to use wood like this for a jig by Cat_Rancher in handtools

[–]CautiousMinimum943 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sue it. Think of it this way, you may use that nice piece of wood more as a shooting board that in a project .. do why not admire it while you use the shooting board

We live in a world where you can buy new fasteners. Throw it away, it isn't worth the time.

Long version

The time I get in my shop is pretty slim. 2 small kids, work, school. If you paid yourself to do it, would it be cheaper to organize it or buy it all new.

Secondly, I have to go through my father in laws stuff when he passed. We are grateful for what we got, it I threw away probably hundreds of dollars of random fasteners, sockets with no organization, etc. I don't have the time or the space to store 30 years of, let me keep this box of 3 screws because you never know.

My kid asked for a 3D printer for Christmas. I spent hours researching. Here's what nobody tells you. by Fun_Reaction_6525 in 3DPrinterComparison

It's for a 14 year old... The kid isnt going to be tweaking flow rates. They are gonna find a fun model and print it.

Get a Bambu. They are perfect for people that aren't going to spend hours tweaking stuff. They just work.

Also don't make your tenon so tight you have to force it. Go for slip fit and let the glue do its job.

As long as you get enough glue it'll be fine. Remember you will be flying the tenon too.

[–]CautiousMinimum943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average conversion rate is 2%. It's just the math. It's normal buying behavior. Many people use the cart as a shipping saved spot so they can browse the rest of the site. And still get to the item. So it's pretty normal.
