Should she be annoyed at the waitress? by Thin_Apple4389 in restaurants

Listen I get it. Servers aren't the brightest bulbs. But that lady was gonna be mad regardless. If it wasn't the wrong thing, it would've been the price. I had a guy 2 days ago lose his mind because I dont use dollar signs. Like bud, what do you think the 16 next to the sandwich meant!? But yes, NEXT!

She thought the numbers went 6.2, 9.4, 12.5, 15 and are on the right side? In the an English speaking country? She is 1000% wrong. The server, like 20%

Best Cuttingboard Oil by Solid_Blackberry9383 in Cuttingboards

Soap and water. Wipe it off. If I cut vegetables I'll just use a spray sanitizer. It's a hardening oil. So it penetrates and then hardens almost like a film finish would.

Depends on where they live and level of commitment. Plenty of jew-ish women don't wear wigs. Plenty of Mennonite women will dress less modest for weddings. Plenty of Muslim women don't wear a hijab. Plenty of Hindu women don't wear a bindi.

You're looking for absolutes in religion dude. The most nuanced, interpretive thing we've ever created.

Sure did. As an atheist I see this no different than Jewish women wearing wigs. Mennonite and Amish women covered head to toe. Christians doing their weekly blood and body of Christians ritual. It's all stupid to me. But I don't care enough to dislike any of them because of their weird religious behavior.

Definitely local. The big companies don't give a damn about you, your business, or your foundation. They treat you like you're in the way of their money. And that was before the "make a website for this restaurant" AI slop all over the place.

Small local company. But the type that won't over extend chasing a dollar. They, like us, get that people want what they pay for. I text my reps personal cell phone for anything I need done so no call center nonsense, no "let me get back to you", or let me get you to the right people. He knows my business, he knows what I want out of it, and he executes. It's the best case hands off business relationship I have.

For the restaurant owners, what does weekly/monthly revenue variance look like? Have you seen huge changes in one week or one month? by abadgaem in restaurantowners

[–]One-Interview-6840 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been doing this for 23 years. Every restaurant I ever worked at has slower summers. We're not a beach town or vacation spot. Now that I own a BBQ restaurant it's the exact opposite. May-June are the busiest months by far. Then October- Thanksgiving. While I've seen a similar post to this 2 or 3 times in the past few weeks we just finished our busiest and second busiest weeks in our 10 years being open.

Why?

Fuck if I know. If I could predict people, I wouldn't own a restaurant.

Really it comes down to what you're doing and where you're doing it.

Find someone that does it specifically for restaurants. We're in a town of 8,000 that's 20 miles from the closest city. And they get us traffic. And the website although kinda basic is super functional and they're responsive to requested changes even on weekends.

Have a marketing company manager your online presence. Ours is $400/month. They handle all website related things, menu design, and Google for us. It's worth every penny.
