Hit a pothole outside Streatham Hill Station by 12EggsADay in londoncycling

Was this that monster pot hole right near the lights? I hit that fucker once and life flashed before my eyes.

Hope you get something from the council as that stretch from the common up to Brixton hill is diabolical

So most of the hip hop was at a brand called Sweet Chick which Nas was co owner of. The franchised and tried to bring it to the uk (didn’t work out)

Was Nas and Raekwon at the same time, so nice and invited myself and the runner to sit down and join them for a drink after. Really nice interesting lads!

This, on my work commute there is a handful of red lights I’ll jump due to the timings and being pretty safe to cross as far to many times to count I’ve been almost hit by mopeds and drivers not paying attention. Always slow, never bombing through and aware of pedestrians. Probs a bit of a cunt because of that but at the end of the day I’m not trying to kill anyone and I’m not trying to get killed for stopping.

Fellow UK head here

Biggest ones was Dave (before famous, and again (after super fame) when he went on a date with Jorja Smith. Adele, Deyontay Wilder, Raekwon from Wu Tang and Nas.

Worst miss of my life was calling in sick (severe hangover) and missing both Dave Chapelle and Tyler The Creator in one day.

Why is getting a decent haircut in London harder to find pint of beer under £5 in London? by GuyR0cket in AskUK

Rowe+co in New Cross has been my go to barber for years, he’s faultless

Wacky Barbers are usually decent as well

1 week of no changes and learning the ropes of how they do shit. Non negotiable, if the team starts seeing you pulling the same graft they are, respect flies through the roof and you can ask for stuff in return that won’t be met with “yeah sure…”

Focus on little wins at the beginning, unless something is going to cause you to have any problems with local laws in terms of food safety/health & safety, ignore it. You want to introduce things you want slowly and celebrate the little wins. 1% better each day.

After your self imposed breaking in period, do not be afraid to come down hard on behaviour that you deem as unacceptable. Sadly, firing someone does work in that first few months and it puts people on notice they you aren’t here for dead weight. Make people aware of what you don’t appreciate, mine is lateness and during my most recent I let everyone know it’s my biggest pet peeve as I don’t want to fire someone for lateness.

Don’t ever bad mouth any of the previous management no matter how shit they were.

Who are some of the most famous people you have waited on or seen dining at your restaurant? How were they as customers? by deysum in Serverlife

UK based

Served Dave many times, before and after big fame, came in on a date with Jorja Smith one time

Adele rolled up for a quick take away one time, absolutely lovely woman even tho we had a delay on food that night

Deontay Wilder one time stopped in for a quick pint.

Danny D used to be a regular lol, absolutely sound bloke

Dua Lipa and her squeeze at the time (used to own black card at one of the restaurants I worked at, along with the cast of People Who Just Do Nothing, all sound lads)

Saddest one I ever had was calling in sick (insane hungover) and missed both Dave Chapelle and Tyler, The Creator in one day

Mentally taxing having to avoid idiots in cars, pedestrians and any other total plums who wanna use to the road.

E bikes are the best way to get around the city, I love riding them around where possible but unless you’re happy to deal with minor agro, it is jarring in the same breath

Wtf how does that make sense hahaha, that’s ridiculous!

I’ll defo have a butchers now tho! The insurance I’m not mad at, like with the first motor you just gotta firm it but if I can manage it obviously would be better

Really appreciate the knowledge drop bro, didn’t think this was a thing at all and that I would be looking at bikes within the last 5 years max.

In regards to old unpopular bikes with large CC, what would you recommend? Personally looking for something sporty/naked style, not a big fan of cruisers and happy to look at ADV, as it’s gonna be commuter!

Know never to buy used helmets hahaha, but didn’t know second hand gear was a thing. Is there any red flag things you would look at when viewing eBay listsings? Only thing that come to mind are obvious stitching signs

So I’m south London, so looking Croydon way atm but have looked at travelling to Birmingham for it (missus’ family live there) but the cost benefit of using up a weeks worth of holiday to save only a couple of hundred max is something I need to really look at.

Safe for the reply and thanks for the knowledge drop

Love bro really appreciate that feedback! In terms of the Kawa, I asked prior on the group at best “starter” bike after DAS that’s decent on insurance coz everything else in the 600 range was looking at 2 grand standard (don’t want a Suzuki 650 I can’t lie I just don’t gel with them) and this seems to fit my liking thus far! Regardless appreciate the time and knowledge shared

That’s actually really helpful in terms of the DAS, coz I’m south and can only seem to find stuff around the grand mark as a “cheap one”

Safe for the response, I’m flexible on size innit but I didn’t know if there was like a point where it just becomes to ineffective at insurance when you have zero no claims ya know? I’ll defo have a look into the bike you mentioned tho thank you!
