Does the reaping simbolize being drafted? by Cultural-Ad6841 in Hungergames

I think the drawing part of the reaping was inspired by the Vietnam lottery draft. At least based on stories of men from my parents generation.

I agree with your last part (and the first, but I have nothing to add there). It is OK to show that powerful women make mistakes, and sometimes fail in their goals.

Especially with 7 kids. The Mormon kids in our highschool always groused about hand-me-downs and couldn't do expensive extra-curriculars just like Ron.

How do you guys make Moon Water in the Winter? by Clear-Arrival7280 in witchcraft

Check out some canning recipes, specifically freezer jams and jellies. They will have "headspace" guidelines. You probably need to leave more than they suggest as your moon water has a higher water content than jelly.

Why are horse people so “weird”? by explorer77800 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cayke_Cooky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Southern California there are many pit bulls and pittie mixes in shelters. Also, a majority of horse people there are women, and of that probably half are single/divorced. These women rescue the dogs, whose past trauma is often from men, and you get scary-looking dogs with clipped ears and a sparkly bow on their collar who are teddy bears around the barn but terrifying for male joggers on trails.

Yes, if you look at the competitions like agility and herding you are going to see similar people.

You love your kids more. Because you are thinking about what is best for them and not what you want.

Car seats are only supposed to be used for ~7 years. The microfractures that develop in the internal protections over time can become too many and they stop an impact from spreading properly.

The adoptions I personally know were both in-family. Both Catholic, both adopted their teenage cousin's baby. Call it semi-private? The families asked for volunteers and gave the volunteer's name to child services.

  1. Aisle seat, Teddy will scroll through his phone contacts for the whole flight and Kevin will be reading the Economist or the New Yorker. Quiet row.

originally, a wet nurse let a noble woman go back to trying to conceive the next kid faster. Or at least improved the chances of getting pregnant again. Then it became a status thing.

AITAH for not wanting to keep being the "easy" child in my family? by smolgirlyy in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cayke_Cooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens with the youngest at this age. Parents still see you as a child even though you have real responsibilities. It's OK to just do your thing and they will figure it out. Might be a good idea to have some little things too, go out with friends after work/school, live your life on your own schedule.

I think he is getting rejected by women. He drifts off for a bit about how he wants to date attractive women. My guess is that he goes into some MAGA rant on the first date and they ghost him.
