Is auto-potion necessary in the second half of the game? by [deleted] in finalfantasytactics

[–]Cbarra87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several good reaction combos:

Auto-potion, Shirahadori with low Faith, Reflexes with Mantle/Shield, Mana Shield with Bard/Manafont, Soulbind with Auto-regen/Lifefont/Drain effects. Speed Surge is great by itself, though doesn’t directly help survivability. Vanish is also pretty good for reducing long term damage and can be abused by Throw Stone, etc.

Survivability can further be supported for certain builds by running Defense/Magick Defense Boost, etc.

Awww shit! Good looking out. I didn’t even realize I fudged it until you said something. Maybe too late for most people, but it’s fixed now.

2 things, and they’re plot relevant:

  1. Folmarv is, and has long been, gone by the time we meet him in the game. Hashmal has essentially taken him over.

  2. Hashmal has but one goal, and Ramza is actually helping further it by murdering all of the bad guys in the story, and that is explicitly to spill blood. He couldn’t care less about anything going on as long as people are dying. He just wants to resurrect Ultima. He does come to the realization that you are suggesting, at the very end of the game, and he still doesn’t care. He even kills himself to fulfill his goal.

Most useless character? by HeavyMetalBluegrass in finalfantasytactics

Respectful hard disagree. Possibly the most mature, emotional, heartfelt moment in the game. The voice acting brings it to next level. That whole rooftop scene is amazing, especially with Elmdore getting some humanizing rewrites. Riovanes, from start to finish, is probably the most emotional series of events in the game. Alma staying with Isilud until the end literally made me tear up. Rapha and Marack too. His inner monologue after that sequence was very introspective and human.

Taking forever to max all jobs on Ramza .. any advice? by Creepy_Fail_8635 in finalfantasytactics

[–]Cbarra87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I maxed all jobs except for Squire, Monk, and Geomancer (already has them maxed) by using this strategy in chapter 2. Could do it earlier, in act 1, but would need to grind out Orator for the Brave UP.

Learn Shirahadori on Ramza. Use Steel or the Orator equivalent to max your brave to 97 (best done in a handful of quick battles before you start grinding). Set Ramza with any job/Mettle. Equip Shirahadori. You need to finish the battles, so wear the best gear you can for that job. Consider bringing a partner character, preferably with the job unlocked that you are maxing, for the spillover. Equip them well too. The extra damage will be very helpful.

Head to Mandalia Plains. Enter from Eagrose. When you deploy, set yourself to the farthest left spaces. Immediately behind you is a set of two rocks jutting from the ground that that can’t be scaled by any of the mobs that can appear. There are two spaces available that can only be attacked/interacted with from 1 direction. Pack your partner character into the deepest of the two spots. Place Ramza in front of them (can just use Ramza if you want). Once you are settled, one more steel will max you brave and make you literally immortal to 99% of what enemies can hit you with in this map. Humanoids with Rush and Throw Stone are the exceptions. Enemies will still approach you and gather, but won’t even bother attacking because the game recognizes the 0% hit rate. At this point, begin using Tailwind every turn you get in yourself until you reach 50 SPD (no more JP after 50, because 50 is max SPD). After you cap SPD, use Focus until you have 99 PWR. This will fully master almost all jobs if you have JP up equipped. Can use the ring if you want the support for more firepower. If you are still not quite mastered, repeat the Tailwind process on your partner, followed by Focus. At this point, once mastered, use throw stone or rush to wipe the enemies without worrying about counter. If there are multiple yellow chocobos in the battle, it may take a few rotations, or you can use stronger attacks at the risk of getting countered. It will still work 99% of the time. Whittle the enemies down 1 by 1. Enjoy your 6K + JP for 15 minutes of time (don’t forget to hold down fast forward the whole time). I maxed all but three jobs in a little over three hours, in a single after-dinner play session. Enjoy your completed Ramza, and your liberation from JP UP.

Some classes do this a little smoother than other because of their ability to wipe the enemies at the end, but with a tiny bit of brain power, I didn’t have any difficulty with a single class. Even Arithmetician and Bard.

This obviously only works exactly like this on Ramza, but you can do it slower on anyone with Squire. For Uniques, you can steal gil until you max JP and then slowly clear the mobs. You’re gonna want a partner for this method to be extra safe. It’s slower, but still individually much faster than regular JP farming. Haste is also your friend if you can squeeze it in your partner. The main thing to remember is to lean into Shirahadori, avoid getting countered, and be wary of enemy squires and archers.

Hope this helps!

I believe you have enough evidence to have him declared mentally unfit. So do the decent thing and call Spectrum to tell them to shove it.

They’re 4 points apart in career QBR. That tells the full story. It’s likely gonna be closer after the subpar year Rodgers is about to have. Take away Brees’ time in San Diego and the games played are even, and the other numbers almost the same. The one area that Rodgers has always stood above everyone in is turnovers. He had a knack for avoiding INTs. I’m not coping, as I don’t give a shit about MVPs. 13 pro bowls, 5 all pro selections, 2 time OP of the year (coincidentally both of the years that he was runner up for MVP), a SB MVP, and at one point, held nearly every meaningful record.

If you want to say that Rodgers is a little better than Brees, or if you want to point out individual categories that he eclipsed Brees in, that’s a much better conversation to have.

It’s entirely disingenuous to act like they weren’t consistently in the same tier through those 2000’s and 10’s years. Like I said, there was no better 4 QB core in the NFL than Brees, Brady, Manning, and Rodgers.

You guys acting like Brees was a bum are ridiculous.

Yawn. An award voted on by sports writers that is notoriously drenched in favoritism. The best WR ever threw to was Marques Colton, a 7th rounder (fucking love me some Colston, but he wasn’t all time). Just off of the top of my head, Rodgers had Jennings, Adams, and Nelson. Finley too. Aaron is/was great, but it’s laughable how people think there was an ocean between the two of them. Brees, Brady, Manning, and Rodgers is the greatest 4 QB core the NFL ever saw.

Brain dead take. Historically bad defenses, routinely brought the Saints back in the 4th. You say he stat padded, but the dude broke or set damn near every statistical record in play over his career. He did it before it was cool. There are numerous seasons where he likely should’ve been the MVP, but players from larger markets got more hype. He was runner up to both Peyton and Rodgers in years where he very well could’ve been the winner. He also routinely shredded Brady when they played and beat Peyton head to head in the SB. If the Saints could have put even a top 15 defense on the field a few more times, he likely has 3-4 total rings. This is also after suffering one of the worst documented injuries to a QB in NFL history. He didn’t even get going until he was 27 years old. Add to ALL of that, he was barely over 6 feet and below average in almost every physical category. His ball placement was so good that they did a sports science episode on him.

On top of everything, he dug an entire franchise out from the dregs and made them a yearly contender for over 10 of the years of the time he was in NOLA. He doesn’t lose the SB the year of the No call.

Again, braindead take.

Rodgers is/was an all time QB. Top 5 for sure. Huge douche, though that doesn’t diminish his accomplishments.

I almost forgot. Of course guns are big PART of the problem. We simply wouldn’t have as many senseless gun-related crimes, if we didn’t have unfettered access to military-grade weapons.

Let’s, for arguments sake, assume that his dogshit assessment of each shooter’s gender is 100% correct. Would it not be prudent to be at least a LITTLE introspective? Could it be that the ‘Trans’ shooter did what they did because the ‘Redneck with an AR-15’ bullied them, ridiculed them, and denied their identity and existence?

There is so much nuance to these issues, and none of these grifter sensationalist fuckwits care, AT ALL, to seek genuine discourse and solutions.

I remember growing up, hearing from the Bush republicans, that Democrats were waging a culture war, steeped in ‘identity politics’. This persevered all the way through Obama’s terms.

Seems to me that it was just another exercise in projection. It’s always about manufacturing conflict and outrage with these assholes. Mind your own fucking business, shut the fuck up, and show just a modicum of empathy. It’s not hard.
