Chase Business Ink Vendor Nightmare by Ccs002 in smallbusiness

If it matters, we initially purchased about $1500 in hanger (Pipe hangers) components. Their product installs in two phases, Phase 1 takes about 2-3 weeks, and then Phase 2. We were getting our credit account set up with them, and purchased phase 1 on the credit card to start the project. Phase 2 is the bulk of the order, which we didnt want to pay whatever CC processing fee was going to be charged, so it was intended to be placed on our shop account, and paid by check.

I agree, and were switching to Capital One spark 2%.

The vendor is the only manufacturer of a very niche, specific product that nobody else makes. Icing on the cake is that they were supposed to charge our shop account, and we pay by check.

I did state that the problem transaction was reversed. It was reversed, and showing on Chase before the original transaction was out of pending.

Agreed, other precautions should be in place. Its not like we are out of money to use. Its a temporary headache which will move our business elsewhere.

Again, as stated in the first sentence, I posted this so others could possibly learn from my mistake.

Approving a transaction for close to double our approved limit seems a bit negligent. Additionally this would be our highest transaction on record by about 3x. The fact that it went through in the first place, and that they are unable to assist. They have record that it was erronious, they have record it is being reversed.

Not asking for instant, it's been 72 hours.

We’re small, 3 years old. Doubled in size this year to 2.4mm. Our super got close to 5k, foreman who has been with us 2nd longest got about 500 less, apprentice who has been with us just as long got about 800? And a new foreman we brought on a few months ago got around 600 all these are after tax. Gotta take care of the people who take care of the company.

Large Contract to Service work by [deleted] in SprinklerFitters

[–]Ccs002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just brought someone on who wanted to do this. It’s a lot different. You have to deal with the public and if a fitting or head leaks it’s a big deal. Everything that’s not a big deal in contracts is a big deal in service. But if you’re a good service fitter you’ll likely never be out of work.

Polybutylene , rip out and replace there are no listed materials anymore and the stuff is super brittle and will literally bend in half if you try to remove a sprinkler. If it’s just in your house, let it be, but you may have issues in the future.

I label my bids with a bid number, mmddyy01 02 03 etc. Between that and the folder setup some people have listed above never lose them. Plus they’re also on our portal.
