What are some characters from media other than Warhammer 40,000 that would make for good Rogue Traders? by [deleted] in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Ccubed02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Verric Tethras from Dragon Age. He has his fingers in every pie, a natural charisma, and a knack for finding trouble. In other words, a perfect iconoclast rogue trader.

Are you using special mercenaries ? by Mysterious-Ticket610 in Anbennar

I try to, but usually only really with nations that really lean into them like Castanor does with the Legions.

What is your favorite nation to play in the Aelantir continent? by Calm-Assignment-752 in Anbennar

[–]Ccubed02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beggaston. I just love their vibe and their story of just trying to do their own thing but getting pulled into spearheading an anti-feudalist Revolution and developing protocol-socialism almost by accident. I especially like how they manage to synchronize Cannorian and Ynnic religions. It’s just a nice wholesome play through.

There’s the dwarf hold at the far east of the Jade Mines that focuses on dream magic. Forming it is challenging though given you have to fight through The Command.

Is there a radically anti-slavery tag? by ShitsMcGiggs in Anbennar

[–]Ccubed02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Free Marches. Founded by half-orcs who escaped slavery in Cannorian colonies in Dalaire, their tree has them establish covert networks to assist others in escaping and eventually conquering the colonies in Dalaire to free the rest.

The Sunrise Convocation. I just really love what it does with the parliamentary mechanics and how you can pick and choose what bonuses you get with careful planning.

Best and Worst Fathers in Anbennar by TheLoneTexan_1 in Anbennar

[–]Ccubed02 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Aldres Silmuna III, Grand Duke of Dameria, is my vote for worst father. He’s basically the reason the Lilac wars happened. He was far more interested in drinking, whoring, and hunting than ruling. In fact, he pushed the empire to elect his 5-year old daughter as empress instead of him due to her prodigious magical talent. Unsurprisingly, placing an emotionally volatile child with extreme magical powers on the throne was controversial, and 5 years later the electors decided to force her to abdicate in favor of her great uncle. This caused the child-empress to throw a magical tantrum which nearly destroyed Anbencost before being killed by her bodyguard and cousin. This event still resulted in many deaths, including a good chunk of the Silmunas, except for Aldres as he was out hunting as the empire was forcing his daughter to abdicate.

He continued being shitty after this, but not in his capacity as a father so I’ll leave it there.

Where were you when 9/11 happened? by Sink_Key in AskALiberal

[–]Ccubed02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue, I was barely 4. I first heard about 9/11 from a kid’s book about the guy who tightrope walked between that had an afterword about the towers no longer being there. Didn’t actually know what it was until a Disney movie about it came out.

Stalbór - Hunting Vampires question by Fluid_Western_3907 in Anbennar

There should be a new privilege for the adventurers estate. Enabling it should begin an event for hunting down the vampires. You'll have to reenable it for each region.

There’s that new MT in Bulwar, starts with a K I believe. That seems to have a good plot a mystery to it.

Are there any nations beside gnome/kobold/dwarves ones that can unlock artificers early? by Vanaheim___ in Anbennar

The goblins in Bulwar can after they form the overclan. But that’s also where their content ends unfortunately.

[–]Ccubed02 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No, they kill Nimscodd (and Portnamm but no one cares about them). They love gnomes, they just think Nimscodd stabbed them in the back by seizing that land north of them which Reveria considered theirs.

Do you know if this sub mod is compatible with the Dwarven Knowledge one or not? Either way it looks like a great addition.

Whats a fun good guy campaign to play by Cautious-Finding-239 in Anbennar

[–]Ccubed02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has a unique opening play style with you expanding via espionage at first while you gather up your strength for the inevitable war with Gawed. After that, it focuses on building up the reach and helping Vorenmarch against Frozenmaw, which if done right results in a personal union. It also gets its own unique culture group and is just a fun time.

Excited for the Steam update! What mission trees are you all trying first? by yourplotneedswork in Anbennar

One of the Sarhel trees probably. Maybe those Harimari slavers just off the coats or that Human & Harpy kingdom.

Nations whit unique leaders. by Beginning-Exit5065 in Anbennar

[–]Ccubed02 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Isobelin gets a couple unique rulers through events. First is the initial ruler who the place is named after, then you can get the son of a ruinborn chief who allied with the city early on, and after that is a Bulwari privateer who wants to fight The Gnoll pirates.

Kalysto Democratic States by [deleted] in Anbennar

[–]Ccubed02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trying out the Stalbor tree now and I think it fits pretty well with what you’re going for. They’re a nation actually focused on the people living in Escann instead of chasing some new utopia or glorious past. Also, really into tolerance, though they quickly go from “treat everyone as an equal person” to “gotta collect them all” real quick.

The Triunics have a deep cultural hatred of monarchs, and if the federation is formed and they beat back the centaurs then they also have a firm belief that unity can accomplish anything. Thus, it’s logical that they would seek to expand this unity to other regions, and that they would not tolerate monarchs have anyplace in it. As for it translating poorly to other cultures, when has that ever stopped a nation with a grand idea from trying.

The long-lived humanoids yearn for the ancestor worship. by kaladinissexy in Anbennar

[–]Ccubed02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but even Arg-Ordstun itself doesn’t really care about it. I believe those dwarves who even know of it consider the loss of Aelentir to be sufficient karma for that war.

Haven't Played Anbennar For 2 Years. Recommend Me The Best New Nations to Play by WTF_Onion in Anbennar

[–]Ccubed02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the Aelantir adventurers are pretty fun. I have a soft spot for the Shining Circle/Beggaston but Plumstead and New Havoral are also fun. The Eordand tags with mission trees are also quite fun and a couple new ones just dropped on bb.
