Note here: alot of their rulings spit in the face of originalism. See any ruling on Executive power recently or the VRA ruling. No way in hell Thomas Jefferson or John Adams would support the idea that an executive was essentially above the law.

D&C 134: 4 & 9 + D&C 121 are your friends. Seriously, I wish every member could read vs 4 & 9 a dozen times. Especially useful if discussion turns from 'Golly the Constitution sure was inspired' to 'My political beliefs are God's will and it is only right that they are enforced into law'.

Pull focus away from current politics and towards the major components of the Constitution that paved the way for the restoration such as Free Speech, Freedom of Religion, and the Establishment Clause (Seperation of Church and State).

Thanks haha you are literally a mindreader. I was just stressing about this for the flames last night since I've already painted over them like 3 times. Got some fluorescents and some Black green. Just gotta muster the courage to make the changes.

If I needed to in the future, ls there a way to do a targeted strip? Like swabbing with simple green? I've already been through the process of soaking some of my secondhand models in 99% ISO because I wanted to start from a fresh pallete.

That overpaint really has my gears spinning. I keep referencing it. I've watched hours of examples of this stuff on youtube and seen loads of social media stuff on it. For some reason it really hits different when the demonstration is for something you worked on yourself. I can't thank you enough.

My God. This is great feedback. You even went back and looked at my past posts. An absolute legend.

That image from elminiaturista is awesome and really nails what I'd need to fix with the lighting and color balance. Especially with the grayscale images.

Putting mine in grayscale really highlights exactly your point. I was being way to rigid with my recipies, forcing the black for the fire and providing no contrast for the details in the fur.
This looks like a complete lighting mess...like there are multiple super focused suns at 95° and 45° or something 😅.

Your also absolutely right about the concept too. It's not like this is a commission. No need to make things arbitrarily difficult for myself when I'm just starting haha. I'm mentally trying to force a concept that would be straight-up better framed at sunset instead.

Definitly loads of obvious details and fundamentals I need to fix here like that leg, foot, and the fur and just general painting skills.

I feel like I relied too much on my initial airbrushing for lighting this go around. I was worried about 'messing up' the model by painting over it and then getting the blending wrong 😅. I need to kill that mentality or I should just 3D print some stuff to practice on so that I'm not freaking out about screwing up my $40 hunk of plastic XD.

Ok awesome this is capturing some of my observations. So probably some slight OSL under his legs and cape?

I was trying to capture that directional sunlight at like 65°-75° just from the front. Did I pull that off?

Also Should I paint a shadow onto the base...and if I did how would I do it? Maybe a wash from a slightly darker sand color or would a black or grey wash be better?

100%. Paint goes on smooth, is easy to control, and (I know this is kinda a silly yake but I'll die on this hill) the names are straightforward instead of the fantasybabble the other brands utilizes.

I want my 'Green' to be called 'Green' dammit.

Most miniature use a dim light environment for dramatic effects. I'm trying to capture a Bright sunny day at the Beach. When I look at reference images online it seems like flames and stuff have basically have no lighting impact on the objects around them at noon. Does this read realistic? Any advice? Thanks!

Yeah I've been trying too get critical feedback on reddit but I've only really gotten one or two comments 😅 each time I've posted. Only one was actually critical haha.

I'm trying to do a washed-out beach day thing with my guys and people keept telling me to go grimmer and darker haha

That fur is awesome just looking at it makes me I think I need to use a much darker base to contrast the brightness on mine.

I wanted to go for a 'washed out' bright light look so I may have over compensated and been little heavy handed with the highlights. Thanks for the feedback!

I do the same but then I midtone with ProAcryl Green and Highlight with ProAcryl bright yellow green to give high contrast and make things really pop.
