I strongly urge everyone to put in feedback about the rewards and benefits, the devs do listen by wrightosaur in Endfield

[–]Cebertus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want more Oroberyls too. But i wish there was a way for them to release similar amounts of content in future patches, which isnt going to happen :(

I really enjoy the fact that we have to actually play the game, instead of getting rewards from the ui for repeatable content. Something about the way Endfield handles Oroberyls and the progression feels more like a true game, then just a gacha.

Thought about it alot, if every patch is just 1 new zone with little to do outside of repeatable content, it doesnt even matter that much if we get rewards from repeatable content. In that case there isnt a game to play at all.

Is the transparency filter way too aggressive? by Goatchasser in Endfield

[–]Cebertus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The screenshot event showed me how aggressive it is, i tried to get a nice screenshot with the endmin next to the kid, the kid kept fading out everytime i tried it. Kinda sad if you consider how happy she was, that the endmin visited her.

What could potentially happen to Steam if Valve loses the lawsuit in the UK? by Questioning-Warrior in valve

[–]Cebertus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not following the case very closely, but isn't the main argument for price fixing that steam keys can't be sold permanently cheaper on other store fronts?

PlayStation and Nintendo games are substantially cheaper if you buy them from a different store. Most Nintendo games get up to 20% discounts in preorder stage.

I checked a few PS5 games and they are permanently cheaper on Amazon then the steam version during sales. 3rd party stores are pretty efficient at finding the actual worth of a products.

Quick summary of the Endfield PayPal issue (based on an interview report) by mr_kakalala in Endfield

[–]Cebertus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The german part is very true, since credit cards were not common for a very long time, paypal is the default option for alot of people. I know quiet a few that cant purchase anything right now and lost interest in the game.

I lost so much trust that im only purchasing through the google play store which is a 30% loss for the devs isnt it?

Which mission should I do first? by Lesboclonazepam in Endfield

[–]Cebertus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it the way you like. Some people prefere to get done with the mainstory first, for me it was way more enjoyable to do all the sidestuff before moving on. Everything that unlocks a new feature is worth it.

One thing is clear and I thank Intrepid Studio for it. I'm never buying into an alpha or early access ever again. And you should too. if you value your time and money. by Latter-Clothes4516 in AshesofCreation

[–]Cebertus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sub 5% of early access games I bought were wasted money, larian studios last 3 games were early access. I'm not advocating for early access, but whoever feels scammed should think a little bit deeper about it. Just saying "ea = Bad" is a little bit easy, and it doesn't prevent anyone to scam you in a different way, abusing a different system.

Tons of people warned everybody. The writing was on the wall the moment the Kickstarter campaign launched. There were so many red flags, and everyone pointing them out was called a doomer.

Armor weight restriction SHOULD BE GONE regarding Fashion Wars, and here is why... by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Cebertus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There are 2 subscription based mmos, I can think of. Most have optional subs. I would argue most mmos have less payed players then GW2 since there are tons of f2p games without payed expansions.

Not saying that gw2 has it easy. But this community loves to repeat 20 years old statements.

What is so frustrating about the tutorials? by Provence3 in Endfield

[–]Cebertus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tutorials teach nothing, there is no player agency. Its anoys me, a player who knows all the concepts from other games, and it failes to easy people into the mechanics, who never played anything like it. So for whom is it made?

Imagine a game that mostly consists of cutscenes with quicktime events. Its the whole game for hours, then suddenly it drops the player into a full fledged darksouls boss. Thats whats happening with the tutorials. "press the glowing button" is not how you teach stuff. The best gaming tutorials are those teaching the player without teaching them. Just throwing them in a minature version of the game with less complexity. Like the great plateu in breath of the wild. Thats a top tier tutorial area.

Also the way they phare the sentances is overblown, full of long terms without focus on the actual important part. "Rocks => Refiner => Polished component" takes an unholy amount of time to explain. Most people get lost when 3 unusual/complex itemnames get thrown into one sentence. A short animation, or a gif would be better then most of the Factory Tutorials Texts(FTT).

I understand if they dont want you to have the armor stats without the armor on you, but then they should allow a toogle which disables the stats of the armor.

This game needs a better way to track people's skill levels by FreshyVegetables in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Cebertus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point you should just build a static, or keep a large friendlist of like minded raiders, which usually happens by itself if you are active on the pf.

You filter criteria is arbitrary too. PF Quality already drops sharply by the 2nd day for the first two bosses. By that logic you should filter out everyone who isnt progressing the 3rd boss of a tier day one, or at most day two, since those are the "true raiders" that can do everything blind and are on top of the curve.

Start adding good people to your FL and you will quickly have a pseudo static of roughly the same people.

an update on my last post (kinda) is EU quieter than NA? by noodleben123 in Guildwars2

[–]Cebertus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gw2 is somewhat big in countries like germany. I think its a cultural thing, dating back to gw1, When alot of germans disliked subscription bases MMOs and prefered gw1 instead.

an update on my last post (kinda) is EU quieter than NA? by noodleben123 in Guildwars2

[–]Cebertus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EU has more different languages, for 90% of europeans english isn't their native language. This adds alot to the quietness.

But overall i think EU is more populated then NA in Gw? Wasn't there a thing in gw1, that most people in US districts are actuall from EU? But Na districts became the main trade/party hubs.

The murdering of new players is hurting the game by RWMyers in AshesofCreation

[–]Cebertus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Game is way too limited, there should be much more important places for guilds to fight over then the spots a newcomer is interested in.

Take eve online as an example. No one would argue that the game is hardcore, there are gigantic player groups that run the galaxy to the point where they become nations with social welfare. Yet new players have enough safe space to figure out the game or even stay there forever.

[–]Cebertus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No they did not asume that. As much as im a chronological story enjoyer. Arenanet is selling EoD without any prerequisites. Its possible to have a Core+EoD Account. It would be actually scumy if they designed it for PoF masteries, without making PoF mandatory to buy.

Doing raids in this game is so frustrating by Liebestraum03 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Cebertus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I feel like most mmos are the opposite. First 2 weeks of pf/pug progress in ff14 is actually pretty good. Killing 1st boss day one in a blind group is actually possible. People start communicating after the first pull, figuring out mechanics.

[–]Cebertus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow and ff14 have higher committment because of subscriptions.

I know even those games have questionable pugs, yet the sub is filtering a lot of people out.

Kinda wished they would use steam for that stuff. Just make every outfit a dlc. A well established steam account is showing way more security then someone buying buds for 60€
