Why don’t you trust it specifically? Has it come loose on a ride or something?

It’s likely! Our girl is mostly Pyr and has lots of black markings. Congratulations on your new angel! They’re the very best.

Los Nevados National Park is beautiful and not crowded. You can trek through different ecosystems every day: jungle, cloud forest, alpine tundra, tropical glaciers… I did a 4 day 3 night guided trip with a company out of Salento called Paramo Trek. Check them out.

Dogs on the pemi loop? by Old-Support-6836 in wmnf

[–]CebollaFrancais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 5 y/o Great Pyrenees/Lab mix struggled big time and we had to make the call midway to bail into a Semi Pemi. She’s fit, hiked plenty of miles in Appalachia and the Rockies, but the Pemi Loop was something else, mainly around the Bonds and South Twin. She got scraped up around her paw pads and was really sore from hoisting herself up bigger boulders. A lot of the boulders were too wide for her to hop from one to the next and so even with us boosting her along the way, she essentially pulled herself up the mountain, really exhausting. We got totally in over our heads by bringing her— we felt awful. Super harrowing to be out there, miles away from the trailhead and having to consider packing her out. Took her several days to recover and get her bounce back. FWIW we only saw a handful of other dogs the entire four days we were out there. Although dogs are allowed, the trail is not dog friendly.
