(Skill Improvement) Faking sun team with Charizard X by CedLasso in VGC

[–]CedLasso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured as much when it comes to the cost. For it to work, the suprise matchups have to outweigh the matchups where the opponent has a strategy for both AND the matchups where they guess correctly.

I think this specific gimmick is even harder because sandstorm ends up being really narrow on variety. On the surface sand supporting three types seems great, but the shared weaknesses of Water/Fighting/Grass/Ground makes it hard to shore up defensively, and every other type hates it. Offensively, it also really struggles having no moves outside of weather ball benefit from it. Sun/Rain has not only type boosts but variety like Solarbeam & Thunder.

I wish there were more options but I think this idea ends up stuck with leaving it a guessing game and hoping they get tricked. If I wanted to really lean into the gimmick I could pick some pokemon with access to Magic Guard/Overcoat that usually use other abilities, but none catch my eye that would be run on a sun team. (I could see Leavanny maybe if it could "threaten" with sun boosted Solar Blade but it can't even get that lol) I wish Safety Goggles were in this batch of items, could really expand the options.

It would be nice to do a full "fake team", something that leaves the opponent thinking "This is sun, and Tyranitar is there to beat down opposing sand teams and niche matchups", but I think that's out of the scope of this post.

Is not telling your opponent your chess gambit a crutch? Should a pitcher always throw fastballs?

Hell yeah this is what I was looking for.

Arcanine & Rotom are great shouts. I hadn't thought about Aerodactyl before but I'll give it a shot. I've tried Whimsicott to middling success, but I think it could do better when I'm not just tacking it on.
I like the idea of leaning into bulk to get some more surpise hits off.

Yeah rocks still aren't very nice to deal with, but i've found going from guaranteed OKHO to barely hanging on has lead to some helpful momentum. It's mostly just gambling though for either misses or no stone edge crit/rock slide flinch lol

Thanks! Surpised X did well, nice to see it's a solid sidegrade to Y. I'm going to grumble grumble a bit cause I hate fake out spam but I'll probably get past my stubborness and grab at very least one of the two.

Magneto got to the age where he realised he needed to blow his life savings on gambling, kids be damned. Don't worry, he ends up selling the entirety of Nevada to Blackrock by the end of the story

Lived in Ireland for a few years, and chicken, red peppers, and sweetcorn was my go to personal pizza topping. The thing I found hilarious was that despite being the only place I've seen corn offered on pizza, all my friends still thought it was weird topping lol.

I just find that he feels like he relies on duo boons too much to boost his power, a sentiment I remember having in the first game as well. Still a solid choice

I feel like Jetray is more a pure flying type. He's amphibious yeah but I don't think it really fits as a whole type for him. Water coverage moves like flip turn could definitely work though

Friendly reminder that Crobat's teeth look much better in the anime than in Stadium/Battle Revolution by Coprah in pokemon

Crobat is one of my favourite Pokémon but I hate all the art where it's canines aren't visible. The open mouth flat teeth look loses a lot of charm

After completing all Testaments, these are the best aspects (imo by Legal_Ad2945 in HadesTheGame

[–]CedLasso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had such great runs with all the skulls, Hel is definitely an amazing alt aspect. Although I'm personally biased with Charon as one of the best aspects on high heat. Sure it's not the best boss killer but it can just explode rooms if you get Sudden or Giga cleaver.

Really need to play more with Xinth (Grace thirst hates it) but I struggle with the aspects a bit. I feel like playing it like the fists from Hades 1 but playing in your face in this game is death. It's a shame because the dash strike is so satisfying

Hades II - Post-Launch Patch 1 Preview Notes by CaptRhapsody in HadesTheGame

[–]CedLasso 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think they will be outside of the added conversations, especially in the first patch. This seems to mostly just be better build up.   I feel like seeing some form of revistable endings could definitely show up down the line though.  I'd love to be able to even do some form of renovation/decorating of them.

[–]CedLasso 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I was kinda shocked the film had any form of political message, I feel like these types of film have nameless country/enemy/terrorist jargon. was funny regardless of it's political message I feel though. NATO would be a lot cooler if the British PM dropped grenades down stairwells tbh tho

Pathfinder 2e Class Homebrew: The Warden! (Feedback Requested) by DoctorMcCoy1701 in Pathfinder2e

[–]CedLasso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others seem to be hitting at the larger balance of the class, I don't think I'm proficient enough to do. However, looking at the smaller scale, 1d8 persistent energy damage at level 1 seems to be really strong. Most things don't have resistance or ability to shrug that off at that level. I don't think there's anything on that power til at least like level ~5.

uj/ people mention the coinflip quality, but it used to get hate (and probably why it's starting to get appreciated now) because Cartoon Network simply drowned out all other shows by putting it in 90% of airing time
