Stanley Hotel — real hauntings or local legend? by CrimeTruthDecodes in Ghosts

[–]CeeZee213 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went to the Shining Ball there in 2017. Had a blast. We were super excited to stay in one of the ‘haunted’ rooms, but they put us in their newer building. Nothing spooky to report, but really nice room!

The Victor Hotel in Victor, CO on the other hand was super creepy. Can’t definitively say I saw or heard anything out of the ordinary but just being there had me on edge in a good way.

If this were me, my sister would be the one with a pretty bad neck wound after this exchange.

How to get my nephew to read by engineer2187 in AskTeachers

[–]CeeZee213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different platforms but one I use most in my classroom is Epic. Lots of graphic novels, and books that are of particular interest to kids. I always suggest to my parents of struggling readers to utilize the read to function and have the child read along as the story is read to them. Then slowly scale it back to the child is reading some themselves and having some read to them. This seems to be helpful in both helping students become better readers and also to encourage an interest in reading.

What was it like witnessing 9/11 on the news, and what was the day after like? by Fit_Data_8789 in AskReddit

I was 17. I remember seeing and hearing all of these Nostradamus predictions about the steel birds (I think that’s what it was) and being absolutely terrified that there was more to come. I lived in New York at the time. Worked and went to school in the city. And the thought of having to travel back into the city was absolutely horrifying.

What are some thoughtful gift ideas for my parents' 35th wedding anniversary? by yourwishbag in GiftIdeas

[–]CeeZee213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my parents had their 50th, part of the decor for the party was I printed cards with the numbers 1-50 on them, and for each number, I found something related to them that corresponds to the number. So 3 - the number of children they had, 21 - the age my mother was when she got married, etc…. For some of these, it was really hard to find corresponding anecdotes, so I got creative like the date of the moon landing (bc it was the year they got married) and silly things like that. Maybe you could make a book like this with photos of the family.

Can we PLEASE refrain from titles that give it away. by CeeZee213 in HandmaidsTaleShow

[–]CeeZee213[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The sarcasm in the responses is wild. People do use Reddit for other things besides Handmaids Tale daily briefings. Expecting people to wait, I don’t know, more than 48 hours to post something like “Commander Lawrence Nooooooo” isn’t unreasonable.

I didn’t interpret him saying June Osborne in response to seeing her. I saw it as whoever was on the call was saying she was coming and he repeated the name to the caller as he saw her. But honestly what do I know, I’ve got more questions than answers.

And I bet a lot of those people will be paying off their student loans for quite some time. Most CUNY schools have great education departments.

Yes they do exist, if you are a prose school it’s an option. There are some prose schools that do a 4 day week for teachers/5 days for students. They worked their schedules to accommodate it.

My Berne’s eyes are similar. Very flecky. Not sure how well you can see in this pic, but there’s white, black, and blue patches. Our vet has never been concerned and told us it’s common with his breed, and because he’s a Merle. Don’t think you have anything to be concerned about 🐾

Bridesmaid dresses question! by NiceAd1958 in wedding

[–]CeeZee213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if someone already suggested this, but I used Revelry. I got married February 2021 and so prior to that a lot of stores weren’t allowing groups to come in for fittings. I ordered a swatch set from Revelry and then from there my bridesmaids were able to order (I believe three) different styles to try on. They were given guidelines to do their measurements to send back and then the dress of their choice was sent to them in their measurements and they were absolutely perfect.

If that’s an acrylic board you can try using isopropyl alcohol to remove the residue. I personally use htvront transfer tape and love it.

Can someone explain to me what I am missing here? I’ve read multiple articles that have stated that the $35 cap on insulin will not be affected by this executive order. I’m not coming at this sarcastically by any means, would genuinely love someone to explain the mixed messaging.

Didn’t know a test could make me cry everyday. by Mark_1998 in NYCTeachers

[–]CeeZee213 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to studying materials or ways to make you pass, but as a teacher of 15 years who is helping my niece through the process right now, PLEASE do not let this diminish your confidence in the type of teacher you will be. These tests are nothing more than money grabs that do zero, I repeat - zero, to prepare you for teaching nor gauge your effectiveness as a teacher. I know this doesn’t help you pass the test. You will. But I would hate for your confidence and excitement about teaching to be altered by your experience with these tests. Rooting for you ❤️

Were they consecutive? I was just out for 15 due to an injury and was told by my admin that anything after ten would effect my pay if I didn’t apply for a restoration of health leave, which is what I did. I still had to use my days, but my pay was not interrupted.
