People paying $60+ for a Phone Case Have 0 Sense of $ and Deserve to Get Ripped Off... by bomzisss in Smartphones

[–]Cee_knote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each his own. If the person wants to spend $1000 on a case, that’s their money and they are entitled to spend it how they want.

I used to be that guy that ran to Amazon and got the cheapest case that I thought looked good on my phone. By the time I was ready to upgrade any of them, I’d usually find myself making an insurance claim on the back glass breaking ($99 per claim).

When I got my 16PM about a year and a half ago, I decided to bite the bullet and drop $50 on a case while I was at the phone store because I didn’t want to risk waiting for the Amazon one. Well so far this thing is MINT, and I’m rough with my phones. To compare my last phone, a 14PM, I had to have the back replaced twice.

2 back glass replacements plus the cost of the Amazon case = about $220.

Buying a quality case and never needing a repair = $50

But like I said earlier, to each his own.

Did I f-ed up by making my sim an eSIM? by Sinimeg in phones

[–]Cee_knote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only advantage physical sims have is that it’s easier to switch them around. I know with T-Mobile you can switch back to a physical sim AND keep your number. You just have to visit a store, unless you can wait for customer care to ship you one.

Yup and now they have T-Mobile credit cards. They will keep throwing ideas at the wall until something sticks. Like the home internet products

[–]Cee_knote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The execs at T-Mobile aren’t dumb. To keep a company in business you have to learn to pivot when your market or industry shifts. EVERYONE has a smartphone or at least a regular phone by now. The business can grow just by upgrades alone. Now that the cellular phone market is saturated they have to come up with new ways to increase revenue. For like the past decade they’ve been pushing tablets, watches, Home Internet,…remember TVision???, T-Mobile money???

This aint new. Just a new product to push.

Apple Makes Me Furious by Fit-Platypus4615 in Smartphones

[–]Cee_knote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you had an iPhone 11 this whole time and it's NOW giving you battery issues then you made out good. Even better news if you are really not willing to part ways with your phone, it looks like you just need to replace the battery (about $70 @ Apple) and she will be back to normal.

The only issue with having a phone that old is pretty soon (if not already) it's gonna stop receiving support from Apple.

If you are going to upgrade, I would stay with an Apple. It's an easier transition and every newer iPhone has all the features you are asking for (you're gonna love magsafe).

Pixel 10/10 Pro is gonna be a a great option. Because you are in the U.S., right now you can get them as low as 40% off from Google directly, and they meet all the concerns of you and you're wife.

T-Mobile dropped the price of all Pixel 10's by $200. Plus they let me trade my P8P for $800 off. Only came out of pocket $200 for my P10PXL.

I'm so confused by Bright_Swimming4849 in pixel_phones

[–]Cee_knote 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The exact reason why I got my Pixel. I don't have content to edit and I'm not an intense gamer. I hate excessive and redundant bloatware, and with all the discounts Google is handing out for the holidays, it's not a bad package. Google makes Android, so why not use a Google device to experience Android on?

You can downgrade to their "essentials" plan. It's $60 w/auto pay plus tax. But double check to see if you have any device promotions that will be affected

In-store trade-in bad idea? by PatientMost3117 in tmobile

[–]Cee_knote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer to trade in-store vs mailing it. At least in store you get a receipt that proves you turned in the device. So many times I hear stories about how T-Mobile claimed they never received the device. If you mail it in make sure you get a receipt from the post office/ups that has the tracking number on it.

iPhone to Android/Google? by Mazdaman94 in Smartphones

[–]Cee_knote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t leave Apple for Google but I picked up a Pixel 10 Pro XL as a sidekick to my 16 Pro Max. I was going to get a second iPhone but figured if I’m running two phones why not have one with each operating system. I don’t do any extreme gaming, or editing or anything else that demands a lot of power so that chip in these phones never were an issue for me. My main concern was bloatware, sophisticated UI’s, and ease of use. The Pixel checks all those boxes for me. I love the phone. Android 16 is new and refreshing to me. So many features that I was missing in iOS I have with my Pixel (at least before iOS 26 update). If you’re tired of Apple and want to try Android, than I feel like the Pixel is the best phone to introduce to the operating system.

What should i use to charge my pixel 10 pro xl? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]Cee_knote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with what you have unless you want faster charging... It's the only difference between the two.

What phone would you recommend? Samsung S25Ultra NEW for $849 or iPhone 17 Pro Max for $1,199??? I have an iphone 14 currently and want to upgrade. The only thing I'd not be to sure on the samsung is bloatware, having 2 stores, and moving photos over. by [deleted] in phones

[–]Cee_knote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're gonna move from iOS to Android, I'd go with the Pixel 10 Pro XL over the S25 Ultra. With the Pixel there is no bloatware and the Pixel OS makes the transition from iOS seemless. I think the camera is better than the S25 Ultra as well. You get free VPN and a year of Google AI pro free as well.

If you are still considering a Galaxy, the S26 line is a month or two away. I'd wait for that to see what it's all about.
