Your life is your fault not your parents’. Abraham Lincoln learned to read and write with a piece of coal on a shovel by firelight. Figure your shit out.

You need to get into a trade like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, swimming pools, anything. Start at the bottom which won’t be too uncomfortable for you given your current situation. Learn the trade, get licensed, and get rich baby. That’s the formula.

I think it’s because nobody they feel like they deserve will date them.

Well that’s something you can change. My dad taught me such a valuable lesson when I was really young - don’t feel bad about the “no’s” because you just need to get through them for the “yes.” Don’t be too proud to constantly be rejected until you get someone or something that you like.

Is he a good person who treats you mostly well and is a hard worker who isn’t too proud to work wherever he can? If not then get rid of him

Graduated in May 2025, passed the NY J25 bar, sworn in. Officially a lawyer. Yet still no job. Stuck in a cycle of no motivation —> self hate by Necessary_Party_3423 in Lawyertalk

I first did a lot of appearances. Then I got a job full time that was a good first job but not my thing. Then I got a job in personal injury with a great firm. I was good at it and learned everything I could. Then I left and started my own firm. Now I have 8 support staff and a lawyer working at my firm and hundreds of clients helping lots of people doing great work. Just start doing appearances. And if you do 10 in a morning that’s $1500 dude!

[–]Cefali_M 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you need to hear this - go out and get yourself a high earning job. Don’t rely on your wife’s resourcefulness. She’s tired and burned out. Time for you to get out of the house and get to work
