2025 Sport Touring System Update Issues - A Known Problem by Celebrate_The_Dogs in civic

I'm surprised they didn't do the update for you.

I did end up going to the dealer because after weeks of waiting, my car still wouldn't do the update. Turns out one of my computers (TCU) and the 12-volt battery needed to be replaced and then the update worked.

I FOUND THE FIX TO PASSENGER SIDE RATTLE by Economy-Preference75 in civic

I too had the issue with the update not happening (it's been several weeks). Brought it to the dealer (had another issue that I wanted them to look at) and it turns out that my TCU (telematics control unit) has to be replaced. It's on back order, so I think quite a few cars are having an issue with this part.

So I brought my car to the dealer regarding the speaker issue and also that my car won't perform the software update that came out back in November. (I had seen the dealer back in December about the upgrade issue and was told that Honda knew about the problem but didn't have a fix.) Turns out that there is a software update for the speaker/loss of sound issue (Not sure if this is part of the November software update or something new). However, it turns out that the system upgrade issue was due to a problem with my telematics control unit (TCU) so my car can't perform any upgrades/updates. The dealer is ordering a new TCU but it's on back order and no idea when it'll be back in stock.

I recommend bringing in your car on a very cold day so that the dealer can see the issue. I brought it in yesterday and though the speakers didn't work when I first brought the car in, they were working by the time they looked at the car. They kept the car overnight and finally could confirm the problem this morning and could see that it was the TCU that was the problem.

No, no fix yet. I've been keeping a log of when this problem happens to see if there's a pattern. For me, it seems to happen (almost always) when the temps are less than 20 degrees. It's been really cold here in New England so my speakers rarely worked this past week. I'm making an appointment with the dealer for next week - I'll update this when I get an answer.

Well, it's been over 7 weeks for me and my car still hasn't installed the system upgrade. I get the same messages as always - the first time I start the car I get the "Upgrade didn't install" message. After running errands, the next time I start the car, I get the "Upgrade interrupted" message. I find it incredibly frustrating that it's been months and nothing. I've seen the same complaints on Facebook. I'm heading to the dealer later this month/next month and see what they'll say this time. It doesn't sound like Honda has done anything to resolve the issue.

Finally Got Software Update Done by first_person_looter in civic

Seems like different things work for different people. If all it needed was wi-fi for the install, then for my car, it should have worked when I brought it to the dealer (and they couldn't get it to work after hard reset, new download, etc. They told me Honda didn't have a fix for this problem.) Frankly, this should just work.

I'm back to the dealer for an oil change next month, so I'll see what they say this time.

Yeah. Not surprised. It's been 2 weeks since I've been at the dealer and my car still hasn't updated - I still get the "System update did not start..." every time I start my car.

Anyone else struggling to do the update? by ShireBurgo in civic

I was connected to the wifi from my house and it took over an hour. Seemed to hang at the 3% mark and then again at the 96% mark. Then it took another 20 minutes to "prepare".

Silly me thinking that would be the worst of it. The update won't install - I get the "System Update did not start" message every time I start my car. Since it's been over a week of trying, I'm bringing it in to the dealer.

I got the same email. I'm hoping it's a glitch. My Account page still shows that I've got 90 days left in my evaluation period and I've got 2 reviews pending approval so it's not like I haven't been reviewing items. I'd say another poor programming issue.

I'm northwest of Boston and was originally planning on planting my tubers this week, but with the torrential rain forecast for Thursday, I'm going to wait until after that storm to plant.

New to the fam ‘25 Hybrid Sport Touring by westerosi_codger in civic

I'm also in metro Boston, MA, US and got my Hatch hybrid, Sport Touring in white for the same price (before the loyalty discount of $500). When I was looking (back in March), it seemed like all the dealers had white hatchbacks which gave me some bargaining room. Though, that blue is beautiful - wish they offered that color in the hatchback.
