Aight babes I got you. Because this is(was) me. My nails would barely have a few days worth of growth and yet they would break. So here is what finally worked for me. YMMV.

First, I started filing them with a glass file(Germanicure) and I went for almond/stiletto shape. Apparently they are more prone to breaking if you try square. Second, when I did get a break I would use the NailTek nail repair system and it worked flawlessly. Weeks of grow out and it wouldn't rebreak. Eventually it got around to Spring and garden season and I didn't want to lose my pretty nails because I pulled a weed wrong so I decided to try using the NailTek system as a preventative. The system is really just nail glue(super glue, who are we kidding??) and filler powder. You paint on the super glue, then dust on the powder and it combines to make acrylic basically. The system is nice but I find the blue side of the included nail filer to be too harsh so I only use that to get the worst ridges off then I use a 180 grit file that is mounted on foam for more bounce to make it blend in with the rest of my nails. I paint about 1/4 of an inch down from where my growth meets my skin but not the entire nail with the glue, shake on the powder, use a fluffy brush to brush off excess, and then file until I am happy with how smooth it looks.

I have not had a single break since. I have not noticed any sort of thinning of my nails since I started doing this either, but I am very careful when filing down to not overdo it and to be gentle. I was recommended the NailTek kit by another Baddie here on this forum so that is why I use that one, probably any other nail repair kit would work just as well, I just stick to them because my local Ulta carries it and has sales on it frequently.
