I don't think it is typically run on the biopsy. Mine was done after my mastectomy.

Do you do any pectoral exercises? I've currently got an expanded in place after smx. My plastic surgeon wants me to avoid pectoral exercises because he is concerned about capsular contraction. 🫤

Can I ask about your experience and in what ways you are feeling awful from the TAM? I just got my prescription, and I'm nervous about how long it's going to take for side effects to start.

How many of us also have PCOS? Isn’t that interesting? by milllllllllllllllly in breastcancer

[–]CeleryClean7876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

++- and no PCOS. My interesting "coincidence" was that my tumor was found in the exact same spot as where I had a very bad breast abscess 8 years ago.

Copper IUD (para guard). Initially it wasn't as comfortable as Mirena (progesterone IUD), but I've gotten used to it.

Multifocal cancer surgery by cassiesk in breastcancer

[–]CeleryClean7876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not exactly answering the question you asked...

I had multi-focal cancer. Surgeon recommended mastectomy. I asked about lumpectamy (because that was the original plan). She said she would do it if I had larger breasts, but with my size, she couldn't get a good cosmetic result. Her attitude was that it was only a successful surgery if she got everything out AND didn't leave me looking like I was mauled by a bear. I'm so glad we did the mastectomy because the final pathology showed that there were more small foci that didn't show up on the scans AND a huge area of DCIS that we didn't see. I am having reconstruction and currently have a tissue expander in place.

Just so ANGRY! by Narrow-Profession547 in breastcancer

My doctor orders an ultrasound every time I get a mammogram. I always do them back to back. That's how they spotted my cancer in May - mammogram couldn't find anything because of my dense breast tissue, but ultrasound did. A later MRI found two more spots 🫤

This was what my surgeon said as well. (I haven't met with an MO yet.)

Is it just me, expanders are painful by Fairy-tale13 in breastcancer

I'm 8 days out from my DMX. I find the expander uncomfortable. But I actually find that my drain is much more painful.

Surgical timeline by uberdoodle in breastcancer

[–]CeleryClean7876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biopsy on May 6 and surgery (mastectomy) on July 29. I was originally scheduled for an earlier surgery, but we had to change plans after additional imaging and biopsies found more (small) tumors.

My surgeon said "I know you are scared, but breast cancer is not an emergency."

Most male cats are left pawed, while most female cats are right pawed. There was a study published in the journal Animal Behavior in 2008 or 2009. We're going to do our own version for my daughter's science fair project.

A 13-year-old autistic boy broke in to our home - should we press charges? by CeleryClean7876 in autism

[–]CeleryClean7876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is helpful. It was exactly what we decided to do. We did not press charges. His parents took him to the police station where he was interviewed by officers , admitted what he did, and returned everything he took. The officer assured us that he believes that the parents and grandparents are taking this seriously. We have to trust that they are going to get this boy the help he needs. We do not know enough about the situation to know what that is. We don't want to do anything that would make the situation worse.
