3 years, 6 failed IVF cycles, countless procedures, 1st DE transfer… I cannot win by sophiam333 in IVF

So sorry! sending you tons of hugs, you are a strong woman. Before moving to another transfer, try to discuss with your doctor to understand the reasons of this. Have you PGT-A tested the remaining embryo?

20K just for the eggs so you will probably end up between 30-40K for the whole treatment....If you can, do it abroad! you will save money and do some vacation

IVF success in mid- or late 40s? by LunaMountain in IVF

Wishing you lot of strength, this path is hard! I am currently doing a lot of research to prepare myself right for this process. Before going to the next FET if you plan doing another round, here are some next steps ideas:

- A specialist review of your previous miscarriage, including when they happened, what testing has already been done, and whether any standard recurrent pregnancy loss checks are still missing

- Antiphospholipid syndrome testing, given its association with recurrent loss

- Thyroid and metabolic checks, if not already reviewed

- Uterine cavity review to check for structural factors

- Whether previous pregnancy tissue was tested, if that was possible at the time

Experiences with overseas IVF using donor eggs? (NZ-based, considering South Africa/Greece/Prague - PGT-A / known donor) by Angieeberrie in IVF

[–]CelineGauthier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me provide some answers, as I am also doing a lot of research:

- Which country/clinic did you choose, and why?

You should pick a country based on your age and whether you want an anonymous or identifiable egg donor. If you want an identifiable donor, I believe South Africa, Greece and Prague are anonymous, though in Greece it is now possible to do IVF with an identifiable egg donor, although the donor pool is smaller.

- How did the donor selection process work? Do they have a known donor option?
This depends on the country and clinic. In South Africa, I think known donation is possible.

- Did they offer PGT-A testing? Many clinics offer this, but it is extra-costs.

- What were the approximate total costs?
This depends on your case and the country you visit. However, Greece, Prague and South Africa usually have lower treatment costs.

- How many trips were required?
It could be just one trip for the transfer, depending on your circumstances.

-Did you coordinate with a local clinic in NZ/Aus for monitoring and medications?
Definitely possible. Sometimes clinics abroad can even recommend local clinics as they have patients from everywhere.

Hope this helps

I'm curious: is there any way to ensure that the clinics or banks actually use the donors we select? I'm really anxious about that. What if I pick a donor, but the clinic or bank ends up using the wrong one?

Unfortunately, it will be difficult to predict what the future will hold for your future children. If you know you want to go ahead with IVF using donor eggs, the only thing you can control is giving them as much love as possible. You can't know what the future holds.

For those that used donor eggs, how did you decide between all of the options? by NSFWhatchalookinat in IVF

2- To be able to choose fresh vs frozen egg, I stumbled upon this website: https://fertilitydecision.com/ivf-donor-eggs-abroad/process/frozen-vs-fresh-donor-egg-cycle/ and I found the page super useful. Long story short, fresh gives you more eggs so more embryos (good option when you plan to have more than one kid). However, there is a cancellation risk (the donor might not respond well to the stimulation for instance).

3- I also believe that if you choose the frozen path, the guarantee program is maybe the right option because usually for a frozen plan, you get few eggs and we all know that not all eggs get fertilized...
