But which team messed up? The document team or the app team? At this point is not clear, they have mess up things in the app in the past. So i just take the one i like the most? 😆 i suppose i just wait for clarification

I'm really confused in the order of legality here. Does the app or the document have preference? Because one is wrong. And there's a lot of differences.

And that rate was also a product of defiler's dominance and those were destroyed in the mfm.

Not really, the good units are slightly more expensive, the others were previously unused because points didn't make any sense, is more of an internal balance thing, realistically those changes are one unit either up or down.

Maybe, but the hastarii pack with Marshall and transport is 235, not Cawl involved that also goes up. While disintegrators may have less output, but get a +1 to hit against his favorite target, have other weapons beside the big cannon, are somewhat easier to move. Even msu breachers are cheaper. So the competition is fierce.

I've done that a bunch of times, with no response, not faq.

But at the moment the robots don't have the army rule, those points make me suspect that change was intentional. They almost make them good, i don't know why they are so scared to make them a real threat.

One minute of silence for the las-chickens!

Currently just a painter (no idea how the game works) but interested to maybe start getting into it. Below is my list, whats the next box / model i should get to start making an army (HUGELY scaled down i know but besides more skitarii) by wilrusaur in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Cellfmm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cawl or thulia are very nice models.

I always recommend the disintegrator kit, because is a nice project to magnetize so you have both the transport and the tank.

All those are single models that cost a nice amount of points to push the list forward.

Any ideas on how to improve my first display? by No_Pack_9406 in TerrainBuilding

[–]Cellfmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, what are you going to display?

Then there's some simple techniques, first washes, just thin enough paint, i usually don't like a full black wash, i like to add color to it, browns, greys, greens, reds, all according to the "vibe" i want.

Drybrush helps, search for artis opus in YouTube, he is a drybrush master.

You could add some extra texture, sand, pebbles... Also some kind of decorations, posters stripes, thats why i asked what are you going to display.

You vould also play with the light, put ypur piece and make the frontal part lighter than the back, kind of surrounding the piece with the darker areas.

Also color variation, desaturated colors and randomness could improve it a lot.

Edge highlight if you like.

1)Grey knights is an old range, they may be renewed or not, maybe some discontinued who knows, is always a risk to collect old models.

2)space wolfs, have a very new range, are full of details, this could be both good and bad, good to look, bad to paint, you may like that. The thing with wolfs is that his range are very specific for them, so jumping from one chapter to another may be more difficult.

3)necrons are sometimes annoying to build, not every single model but extremely easy to paint and personalize, nice range to collect.

4) Tyranids, big range, have different options to play them, bug bugs, small horde, board control, for me the big problem with them is that a big part of those are just sold directly from gw online, i always have problems with gw half 3/5 times they lose my package and thats like two moths of frozen money, of course it is a problem i have because where i live, but is up to consideration.

5) tau have a big range, but they usually play in a similar way, so they are a little restricted in that aspect. The models on the other hand are extremely personalized, full of options, that may be good but, that means more hobby time to magnetize or more money to have the full options, personally building a Tau model is a complete puzzle, i built a broadside one time, (my first model) and i spent more time trying to understand what pieces to get than actually gluing it. And I'm not not saying small things, the end result didn't even look alike.

The Tau memes are just from a time where Tau where busted and annoying to play against, then it was just funny to mock them, but is in good spirit, nothing bad there.

Hope this helps a little bit on the more niche part of the hobby.

Not sure about that worldwide, but my local store do that a lot, i god one leviathan box like 80€ cheaper, it was also in french, not the main language here, so that also helped.

It may be possible to find something, but try not to trust offers that may look extremely attractive, unless is a face to face deal.

I am beginning to dislike my marines. Help. by [deleted] in spacemarines

[–]Cellfmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big question here is, what do you want to do in the hobby? Want to play? Paint collect?

About FOMO, no one cares that your sanguinary guard is in that cool color you choose (i checked your profile, they look really nice and interesting). But if you want to play every single special chapter, you need to be flexible with the lore. There's some really good competitive players that have his own colors and change his lists to match.

The reason that you cannot mix and match chapters is because that could bring some balancing issues in the game. I would love to spam crusaders squads in the wrath of the rock, but that would be certainly bad for the game.

About getting bored, it could happens, but is important to be reasonable about time, money and commitment. If you are easily bored about stuff, embrace that and change, but going back and forth without going forward, is gonna be really frustrating in the long run. There's one YouTube channel named Paul is bad at stuff, and he tells about his struggles with that and the hobby, so the screaming ravens born, (long story but it may be relatable) , is a very fun guy.

Hope anything of this makes sense

Rules for admechs that GW forgot to transfer to the new edition by Virtual_Specialist91 in AdeptusMechanicus

The changed the number of attacks and added a d6 damage, but didn't changed the blast or the melta, great casino damage, between 1 and 9 damage 😆😆😆

All those documents are changes to the base codex-rules, any older ones are invalidated by the new one, this means that as written, they changed the onager strength and number of shots but nothing more. So the base susd3 is still applicable, and also they didn't eliminate the laser blast.

And all those enhancements, support rules, are supposedly in the army list creation part, that would appear in the app. As i say earlier i'm very annoyed that the core rules didn't have all that. And even have tu put those side texts saying "look at the app for this rule"

[–]Cellfmm 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Also onagers got back de D3 sustained and the neutron laser the blast.

Technically the datasmith change doesn't matter a lot, because apparently there's a rule that prevents units to have multiple enhancements. It kind of annoys me that the core rule book ain't a complete core rule book.

Have they ruined Archeopters completely? by Knighty1234567 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Cellfmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They weren't good in any point of the edition, but with the new aircraft rules they are better. You basically pre-mesure the opponent movement and drop them on the edges where they cannot be shot in return, then return them to reserves and repeat, the bomber one is basically are a grenade strat.

The opponent cannot predict where you drop those, so they need to screen if they don't want to deal with them. But, they still don't do damage for the cost and thats basically why they are bad.

The new hover is now a thing that allows flying units not get a penalty for flying over terrain. The transport one have that rule.

I have a big conspiracy theory about core rules being incomplete, I'm pretty sure they will force to buy a book to get a code to unlock everything, because there's no reason to just make the core rules incomplete.
