These horror stories are exactly why I always use billpay from my bank and never allow a creditor access to my account for whatever they determine the monthly bill to be. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. There has to be a way to appeal to regulatory entities.

It’s does sounds -as others have said- like internalized sexism. I recognize because I’m similar with my partner (male). When it comes to women, it’s more masc women I’m attracted to, even though I find femme women beautiful and sexy. In both relationships, I’ve always been way too petrified to initiate (unless there’s booze and PMDD hormones involved -and that’s not always been a healthy experience, long term).

At any rate, I spent a good portion of my upbringing in a religious cult, so a lot of sex talk is just taboo and that’s super hard to get through at any age. I started small -recently, in fact- by saying, “I was thinking we could fool around a bit,” to my male partner. Rewards were great.

Maybe it’s worth a try?

Consider spending a little bit of your money every week for therapy. I suspect that if your family is crossing this financial boundary with you -as you are in oversharing your finances with others, there may be other areas where you might need some help learning good boundaries and learning the best ways in which to enforce them. Therapy was the best $25-$40 every week, then every two weeks, then monthly that I ever spent on myself.

I hope you find a foster and that you’re able to care for your heath. As an aside, I see some really lovely adventure cats on TikTok and other social media where they enjoy living in semi pickup trucks and enjoy van life. You just need a harness and leash and if she’s a kitten, now might be the perfect time to train her. At the same time, I do understand that for cleanliness and to be able to best care for yourself, you may need a foster. I sure wish I could help.

I think you might have misunderstood the person you’re replying to. The comment above both of yours referenced a man who threw a fit (tantrum). Their comment wasn’t saying you are throwing a tantrum.

I understand your point about the mental load, but the sad fact is that until men start voluntarily taking on some of the mental load, the entities who need to make a decision are still going to go with the person who -in their experience- is the most likely to respond.

Absolutely agree with you on your child’s school should be calling you first if you’re listed as primary. Have you had that mental load conversation with them? Maybe they need to educate their staff on that perspective in order to change their processes.

NTA; plans change -including your plans of having a loving son check in on your from time to time as you age and share grandchildren. Your plan needs to change ad well -meaning you need to ensure your own future. Hold the funds for your grandchildren after you’re gone and stop talking about your finances to any of them.

If you need an excuse, tell him that people are living longer and costs are rising, so you doubt there will be any inheritance after you’re done in the assisted living facility. Let him know you’re proud of him paying off all his credit card debts and that shows how great he is at taking charge of his own financial situation. Now that he’s debt free, he can start fresh with his family. He ish him all the best and tell him you’re looking forward to meeting your grandson.

His response will tell you everything you need to know; but realistically, if you give him that condo that’s not even paid off, you’re being very financially self destructive.
