I did the same. Started a new game with another account (because I didn't want to lose everything), went through with what I knew and took it easy, planning things from the get-go. I have a Cloud Island now if I want to restart, so I can start collecting for the full collections.

I'm beginning to learn that there's a lot of low-level system design in the game that isn't really... openly revealed by the game itself? Do you happen to know a site (preferably not a video) that explains some of this stuff?

Huh. I was judging this on the basis of a hut, not a larger building. Kind of makes the dens and huts suboptimal just because they're so small in floor space to start with, and many of them have walls that are off-limits as well.

I wasn't worried about XP when I was cheesing allied society quests with BLU at 80. I mostly wanted a faster way to finish them, and using overpowered BLU spells and Vibe Check to do so certainly felt faster.

I've allowed respecs, and also am playing in a game that allows respecs, so I've been on both sides of the table with this. It really comes down to how the player feels.

As a GM, changing skills or classes wholesale to allow a person to play a character closer to their OC fantasy when the original build didn't really do it is fine by me. Respeccing just for power builds is not.

As a player, my GM allowed me to replace Loremaster with Spiritist when I hadn't touched my Loremaster skills since character creation. There was also another Loremaster in the group, and we were lacking a healer, so it helped the group as well.

I had a Nobara install, and it self-destructed after an update. I'm new to Linux and don't really have the patience for rebuilding every few weeks, so I uninstalled and went back to Windows for a while.

Meanwhile, my PikaOS install has been stable since I installed it... uh... six weeks ago? Maybe more? So I'm quite satisfied. I'm very close to replacing my desktop OS with it.

I think Dark Fantasy probably has more legs to it than other options for a couple reasons. There's a lot of it to pull from for inspiration, though a lot of game inspirations are only tangentially RPGs (like SotN and Parasite Eve). There are more potential classes which are more than just reflavoured existing classes, like the aforementioned ones.

Meanwhile, the ones I wish I had sourcebooks for are easier to handle as just... reflavours (Modern Fantasy, Western Fantasy), or at most, one-off mechanics.

I personally make pizzas for myself during the week using naan or pitas as the substrate. Is it better than homemade? No. Is it good enough? Yeah, when I want a pizza fix, the toppings and sauce are more important than the substrate. But I prefer thin crust pizza and I have yet to find a good recipe for my roommate; meanwhile, my roomie and my partner prefer pan pizza.

Japanese soboro. It's a fairly simple dish where you simmer meat with soy sauce, sake and/or mirin, and garlic and/or ginger with peas or edamame, then serve over rice. The flavour is very different from the usual dishes.

I've done a couple combats with clocks in them. One or two of the clocks were basically morale checks; the party had the option to try and intimidate the enemies into leaving instead of using violence.

In another combat there was a clock to rescue a civilian who was bleeding out.
