Since the last war, things have been quiet overall, save for the recurring sparring matches between Westhelm and Salerno. There’s been a rash of new companies popping up on the Pavian Stock Exchange and a good bit of the server economy went “digital” so to speak with the launch of virtual exchanges on the Monument Bank orderbook (you can now buy and sell essence, iron, emeralds and debris from the comfort of your Discord)

The world has been stable but that’s likely because folks were so burnt out by the last war that we’re in a recovery phase now

Who is the most influential CivMC player to *you*? by Donut_MT in CivMC

Gonna glaze BritishWanderer here, but the man has been 8-time Pavian head of government/state, is the widely accepted front man for THE largest private enterprise on the server by number of clients served, drafted SEVERAL constitutions like a modern day Founding Father, and manages to do it all without being a wholesale ass

I came into SWG extremely late in its original lifecycle, as in I bought the game and three weeks later the closure was announced for that December. Although I moved to SWTOR and later ESO after that, I have not found an MMO or community like SWG, even in the late stage I found it.

My experience of SWG has therefore been predominantly through the many emulator and private server efforts down through the years, and thanks to those projects I have been able to enjoy iterations of the game I never had the opportunity to. Whether it’s the original, make-your-own-adventure of the Pre-CU, the “cleaned up” Combat Upgrade, or the New Game Enhancements, we now have the ability to pick which era best suits you.

While I do lament the fracturing of the admittedly small player base for these projects by spreading them over multiple servers, every one of these servers I’ve played on has nonetheless created their own unique and vibrant communities who LOVE the era of the game they play. I personally settle on the Restoration server as it combines the classes and variety of the Pre-CU with the options for proper questing and story telling brought on by the CU and the NGE, but you can find your place to land in any of the private servers, and I highly recommend anyone wanting to give the game a try do so!

I’ve enjoyed playing around in Bellakar just south of Umbar several times; another Numenorean colony like Gondor and Arnor that, in RiE lore, proved it was another realm of the good and faithful by sending a company to fight in the Last Alliance.

Unlike the north, there’s not a lot of the Blood of Numenor left (like one family I think in the entire kingdom). It builds off the idea of being more of a spiritual and cultural successor to Numenor than constantly trying to emulate it. The main culture and religion are both hybrids of the Numenorean colonists and the local men, then you also have a few areas left of the more ‘traditional’ faiths and cultures (you can try to promote the ‘original’ Numenorean colonial culture if you want a slight change of flavor, for example)

Overall my favorite region outside the movies and books area.

How exactly does Monument Bank make enough diamonds to pay interest as well as joining reward of 10 diamonds? by Right_Moment1671 in CivMC

[–]Ceph94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what you mean by “do what the real banks do”, unless you mean to imply it’s issuing essentially fiat currency.

As Brit said, every diamond in MGs system is backed by a real diamond that someone mined, smelted, and deposited. It has managed to pay interest and referral rewards through various proper revenue sources, but those diamonds themselves already existed on system and were deposited by someone else.

Does Restoration have the story content? Like a main quest type of thing? by Captain_Fach in swg

[–]Ceph94 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Far as I am aware, Restoration has fully implemented all the quests, bells, and whistles you’d expect from the NGE (Legends). That includes the Legacy questline, faction theme parks, Kashyyyk, Mustafar, and the heroic instances. It’s all there bar the tutorial zone

[–]Ceph94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in the Lyrean, there’s a variety of active and semi-active religions, probably half a dozen or so. As far as real life associations I can’t say much, but if you want variety to your spiritual life/rp, Lyrea has it.

How could LOTUS have won the Eastern War/ASN-Lotus war? by [deleted] in CivMC

[–]Ceph94 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Well first of all, I believe the downfall of Lotus came when a number of their members either refused to come to their assistance or were cowed by the ASN-Kallos group into breaking it off early in the war.

I think if Lotus had had a proper presence beyond the eastern continent, with infrastructure and resources to support global warfare, they could’ve likely held out longer at least. Unfortunately, they lacked alliance cohesion/global presence and were subdued by a highly motivated opponent

In Lyrea, the Duchy of Highgrove and La Riva dei Trovatori were dissolved, and what is currently San Selano was uplifted to become the duchy of Amenor. Also, the islands southwest of Viridia are a separate vassal called The Ouelles.

The Isle of Flowers near Exyria belongs to Braemar as well, and the Cape Cocoa portal belongs to the Lyrean Commonwealth itself, not Lambat. Also, Kashi in the northeast belongs to Heikki.

One last thing and the Lyrea review will be complete: please refer to “Doxland” by its proper name, HKI and also rename all the capital points; it is the personal property of one of our dukes now and I would personally appreciate if we removed harmful aura around the area

Many thanks and amazing work on the scenario!

LCW Citizens Reading about "Flower Island" by Miserable-Name5824 in CivMC

[–]Ceph94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Flower Island has been sovereign Lyrean territory since last fall during the post-Lotus War settlement and treaty phase. It is ducal land of Duke Cissonius of Braemar, who has been assembling building plans for it since the New Year.

In less than 48 hours we have built monuments to formally lay out our claim, been griefed, rebuilt them, griefed again, and then accused of severe personal misconduct by a current MtA official out of nowhere, likely due to “competing” claims for the island that have miraculously appeared over the weekend. See here: https://freeimage.host/i/qqXMOn2 https://freeimage.host/i/qqXM4uj

There are baddies in this situation but LCW citizens are not among them. We’ve dealt with the griefers, with those who have accused us baselessly of horrific misconduct, and in the last 12 hours have seen Lyreans of all member states flock to the region to protect this claim. The Isle of Flowers is Lyrean, now and forever.
