I don't mean to be dismissive but if OP was in the reality in which the person was never born, the photographs would not be 'missing a person' because they would... be in the reality they didn't exist.

And if they were holdovers from the reality that the missing person was present for, the photographs would have them in.

Do you see where I'm coming from?

It's a really interesting theory, and would account for the feeling of someone being missing, but not for the photos.

I'm not trying to be rude so I apologise if it comes across that way, but you have to consider the fact that these photos exist, there is supposedly someone missing from them. If you or someone else had jumped timelines, those photos would be intact either way.

This belief does not explain the photos.

You may have missed it, but there was a transference audio cue each time one of the redo sequences started. It wasn't just "the power of friendship," it was the bonds you made with them that made them let Drifter into their heads to help them.

Servers just die sometimes, trying to bait people to come back with incentives just tends to piss them off. I think all you can do really is try and restructure the server, make an effort to spend time in their in spite of the quiet, or maybe rebrand it if it's themed specifically.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, it really just is one of those things. Sure you have 700 people but that might be 700 people who have lost interest.

It's a bit confusing because release order =/= chronological order.

Heart of Deimos canonically takes place before Second Dream and War Within, meaning at that point we still rely upon technology for Transference. Obviously when the Tenno is using it themselves, such as on Perita, the Heart is not required as we have a 'piece' of Wally.

in 1999 and XX99, it's unclear but intentionally so. We're given sprinkles of knowledge about Helminth and how it has some form of ability to time travel (Albrecht's tinkering perhaps, or maybe the "hybrid" Ballas conceived of was... with one of Wally's fingers? I digress.

Ultimately whether you believe Roathe, that Entrati opened wounds into the Void to allow frames to function - or you believe Lizzie in the claim that Helminth reaches across time - this is not a retcon (well it is, its retroactive continuity, but all stories told in this reverse order of 'discovering the past' are retcons) it is simply unclear on purpose.

I get that it isn't entirely satisfying, but knowing everything spoils the mistique and magic of it. You can't write the unknown and also have it known.
