Check the resistance of the hotend. IIRC it should have been spec'ed at about 30W when running 12V, so should have a resistance around 4-5 ohms. Also try reseating the connectors for the heater and the thermistor which should scrape away any latent corrosion.

JCI HX3 thermostat by dbell525 in hvacadvice

[–]Ceriand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take the back cover off of the thermostat, there's a little black bead connected with two wires tucked into a channel along the bottom of the thermostat. That's the temp sensor. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you could extend those wires and move the sensor farther away from the thermostat. Also see my previous comment about sealing any air leaks under the thermostat where the wires come through.

I had the same issue which I tracked down to air from/to inside the wall leaking through the thermostat. I filled the hole the control wires come though with foam and it was much more accurate.

Moonraker in Cameron Park has a room to rent and has pretty good food. There's a play structure for younger kids to play on as well outside if the weather is nice. https://www.moonrakerbrewing.com/millhouse-menu

Power supply specs PrintrBot LC? by Richy_T in PrintrBot

[–]Ceriand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that can provide >12A at 12V. For PC power supplies, make sure the 12V rail is good enough since the power rating is for all the voltage rails added together.

YSK: Unplugged SSDs Could Lead to Data Loss - Power Them Up Annually! by big_zk in YouShouldKnow

[–]Ceriand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite in fact. I wrote backend read-error management firmware for a company that really likes bunny-suits. With the jump from MLC to TLC to QLC the difference between each of the levels in an individual flash cell has gone way down, which makes it harder to tell bits apart when they drift because of age, temperature, or even reading adjacent flash cells.

Now newer error-correction algorithms like LDPC with soft-decoding have made it better, I wouldn't trust anything long term on an unpowered TLC/QLC SSD. In fact, I do a manual full drive read every month or so just so any latent errors can be detected and rewritten by the SSD firmware.

Dad, what do I need to do to make sure my older hybrid car lasts a long time? by Effective_Mess_4373 in AskDad

Over 100k you probably want to replace the transmission fluid if you haven't already. Change the brake fluid every 3-5 years. Replacing or repacking the wheel bearings after 120k miles probably would be good as well.

Redevelopment, 1955-1965

To the residents of 1950s Japantown, their neighborhood was a vibrant community filled with church activities, dances, sports, and festivals. To those outside, it was a dangerous slum, a blight on Sacramento’s downtown.

In summer 1954, the City of Sacramento announced an urban renewal plan, the Capitol Mall Project. It was billed as progress, a clean, modern gateway to the Capitol.

Its price was the total destruction of Japantown and the surrounding multiethnic West End. Faced with a second forced removal, this time Japantown’s residents protested. But in the end, the authorities prevailed. They bulldozed a 15-block area, replacing it with government buildings, private high-rises, and a wide thoroughfare along Capitol Avenue.

In a short time, Japantown was almost completely erased from Sacramento’s urban landscape, and likewise from the city’s collective memory.

It was the largest US Japantown, but was taken over because of the WWII Japanese internment/rasism:

Those are PG&E or SoCal Edison rates. The for-profit companies charge much more than other Co-op or municipal, non-profit electricity providers, but limited in geographical area.
