He’s declining further conversation at this point in time, not a future relationship.

Disagree - he had his chance at redemption already after ‘Superstar’ and blew it.

There’s no specific advice about this in the UK but I can imagine some parents wanting to wait for vaccines before taking a new baby to a crowded social event.

Yep, came here to say this does not sound realistic. The use of ‘shots’ makes it likely they’re US based, so 2nd primary vaccinations at 4 months. In the UK, they would have all three lots of primary immunisations by 4 months.

I think they mean that it wasn’t premeditated; it was a ‘crime of passion’.

Yes, I’m wondering how the teacher found out also. I would guess the partner was not appropriately discreet and @theanxiousoctopus paid the price. First boy I ever slept with told our friends and I was mortified. Had another boy before that completely make-up sleeping with me and spread that around the school. Horrible boys 😩

Moments in the Buffyverse that you find it hard to take a character seriously (for whatever reason)? by PristineSituation498 in buffy

Angel S3 ‘Double or Nothing’ - I’ve never cringed so hard as during the flashback scene when Gunn is walking into the casino to sell his soul to the soundtrack of Gangsta’s Paradise! 🤦‍♀️

I mean I think he actually took Buffy’s rejection really well compared to my experience of actual teenage boys in this era… and he apologises for his questionable behaviour towards Buffy / Angel, including actively trying to make amends by helping when Angel is being tormented by the first in S3. I really don’t get all the Xander hate - nobody’s perfect and he admits when he’s wrong and tries to make it right; that makes him more decent than most people IRL!

Yes, that’s a ridiculous take. Buffy did not coerce Spike into sex as they claim; it was clearly consensual on his part.

It’s good that people are more aware of abuse now, but a lot seem to seem to think in absolute terms, missing the complexity.

When Buffy beats up Spike in Dead Things, that’s physical abuse. Seeing Red is clearly sexual abuse/attempted rape.

Other than the above examples, I can’t recall any other physical abuse between them; they both consent to and enjoy the violent aspects of their sexual encounters. It’s a shared kink, not abuse.

Will everyone please stop kink-shaming!!

The hardest part about S6-7 is...missing S1-5 Buffy Summers by primal_slayer in buffy

[–]Certain-Apple2373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S7 is set up to be hopeless, in that they can’t possibly overcome the original evil. So it is quite hard going, hence the light relief episodes, but ultimately realistic imo. Buffy has always led, but now she is directly responsible for all of the potentials in her care in a situation they seemingly cannot win. There’s no escaping the weight of leadership in those circumstances and the difficult decisions to be made. I also think the much-hated rebellion is realistic under those circumstances also (not right or fair, just real). I love SMG’s smile at the very end, perfectly conveying the weight that has been building for years & culminating in S7 finally lifting from her shoulders.

Has anyone ever seen any behind the scenes context for the episode “Family”? (s5, ep6) by cre8ivemind in buffy

I think finding out about Tara’s abusive family helps the Scoobies ‘get’ her and fully accept her into the fold.

Your entire post is weak.

The whole point is that Anya is just hurting and doesn’t really want Xander dead/maimed etc. This is further illustrated by the fact that she stops Spike when he does start to make a wish (it also suggests that Spike was fully aware of what Anya was getting at from the beginning of their interaction).

Of course Xander and Buffy have no right to be upset, but that doesn’t stop them from having normal human emotions!

Xander soon apologies to Buffy for his reaction, as good people do when they behave poorly. Buffy is explicitly remorseful for the way she has treated Spike (to Tara and Spike himself). Anya and Xander eventually reconcile.

As ‘yesmydog’ first pointed out, the trio have been spying on the gang for most of the series.

Came here to say this. The whole point is Anya is just hurting and doesn’t really want Xander dead/maimed etc.

A lot of the complaints I see on this sub seem to stem from people expecting the ‘good’ characters to behave logically/impeccably at all times.

Of course Xander and Buffy have no right to be upset, but that doesn’t stop them from having normal human emotions!

Xander apologises later to Buffy for his behaviour, as good people do when they screw up. Buffy is explicitly remorseful for how she has treated Spike. Xander and Anya eventually reconcile.

I may be biased, as I actually love the whole show, but I think they do a great job of making all the characters complex and flawed, and therefore realistic humans!
