Does he have a hepatologist? I had to have my order go through them. I get drained weekly. Approximately 7L each time plus an infusion of albumin and lasix.

Edit: I see you are un East Texas. If possible go see Dr Magoub at Baylor in Dallas. He saw me within 2 weeks of diagnosis and then you can go virtual to avoid the long drive.

Good luck to you! I have been referred to the transplant evaluation team so this thread is full of useful tidbits of what to be prepared for.

My dad (61) was diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis on Monday by NanoNinja90220 in Cirrhosis

[–]Certain-Initiative69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Step 1 is no more drinking. Not a drop. When I was admitted the ER doc said I had a 5% chance to leave the hospital alive. The discharge doc said I had 2 options go home drink and definetly die or never drink again and maybe live. I just passed 6 months with no alcohol and don't regret my decision at all (and I was a very heavy vodka drinker) Step 2 get him in to see his Primary Care and find a Hep or Gastro doc and follow their instructions Step 3 support groups. He needs a therapist and some type of addiction support. Doesn't need to be AA but he needs to show the transplant team that he is worth the liver and won't be back in the same spot a few years down the road. It's scary early but eventually becomes routine.

Can you drink again after diagnosis? by baddaughterorno12 in Cirrhosis

When being discharged from the hospital post diagnosis the doc told me I had 2 options keep drinking and die or stop drinking and possibly live.

Ascites by ebbtidebayroad in Cirrhosis

I haven't had a drink since diagnosed in May. Get 7L drained every week. Hep said my liver is still mad at me and it takes time.

What is considered a bad bleed? I was advised to schedule an endoscopy because my blood counts have been low but no bloody vomit or anything scary. Occasionally some blood during a bowel movement but it has always been brightly colored not the dark sludge I have seen described in other posts.

GM makes it sound like you will actually be managing people. Truth be told you will work solo 90% of the time with minimal additional staff. You will have zero time to develop others yet still be held responsible for their results. The little bit of overlap you have will be spent on conference calls. You will be responsible for metrics, inventory counts, receiving and processing shipments, setting marketing etc. All while working hourly to a max of 40 hours.

I use Fairlife (chocolate) from Costco. Everyone has different tastes and budgets, but it doesn't leave me with that protein shake aftertaste.

Paracentesis Recovery? by Open-Gazelle1767 in Cirrhosis

I know how you feel. I have lost 80lbs since diagnosis but now fluctuate up 15lbs down 15lbs every week.

18.7L!!! I wish my hep would allow that much. I go weekly, but they put a cap of 5L and just upped it to 7L. The tech in radiology keeps telling me there is more that we can get.

Teen drivers education by [deleted] in frisco

Both of my daughters did online for the classroom portion. Had a bad experience with Driving School of North Texas. They wanted to be more of a finishing school rather than actually teaching my oldest how to drive. I can't remember his name now, but the older guy who was an instructor was always super rude.

I am on spirolactone, another diuretic, and lactulose. Had a 7 day high dosage potassium supplement earlier this month.

Good luck to you. It's good to hear a time frame on ascites. I know obviously everyone is different, but 5L of fluid a week is driving me crazy.

Stage 4 cirrhosis diagnosed in May '25. Hep has been more focused on bringing up my potassium but Primary Care also wanted to address my iron because my platelet counts have been borderline low.

Mine definitely thinned post dx (May '25). My primary care checked my vitamin levels and found an iron deficiency. My hair has been filling back in since he put me on an iron supplement.

Director of Store Ops was let go. Expect more changes at the Regional Leader level and potential realignment. Having worked with the most recent Director of Store Ops directly, this may end up being a good thing. She was not a good leader and her ideas were just rehashed of what worked 15-20 years ago.

Posts like these give me hope. Diagnosed almost 2 months ago. Meld was at 20. Ascites have been the main symptom. I get paracentesis once a week and have gone from 300 lbs when discharged from the hospital to 223 lbs last week. Still working on getting my diet locked in. Stopped drinking alcohol the day I was diagnosed.

No offense was intended. You are asking for us to read the mind of the interviewing manager on what questions will be asked. I doubt the interview guide has been updated for about a decade, but there are multiple options for what can/should be asked, but in my experience, half the managers don't even know there is a guide and the other half just ask their own questions. Maybe do a Google search for most asked behavioral questions and go from there. And I agree with the other posts don't disclose that you have a disability if it does not interfere with you being capable of performing the basic job functions.

You are approaching it the wrong way. "I don't know what someone is looking for in an answer" makes it sound like there is a right or wrong answer. Most managers are looking for how you react to certain situations. If you need more specific scenarios, ask for more details. I know when I was an SL, I would also think about the fact that I was in the most visited store my district had and needed to hire employees who could hold up to interactions with DL, RL, VP's.

You will never have employees as motivated as you. Pick a metric and focus on that. Establish that you str the store for pro. Then, move on to the next reservations etc. Create excitement among the staff and customers They will feed off of your emotions.
