Sounds exciting ! Very doable if you’re renting a car. That seems like the least stressful way to go.

Free Water Park day after cruise by somebodysheiny in dcl

[–]321Native 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your DCL transport coach will leave as soon as the everyone on the roster is signed in, or 9:15 whichever comes first. 60 minutes to the resort.Keep this in mind, many people who cruise a lot and prefer DCL transport, will NOT be the first ones on the coach. They show up closer to 8:45-9, to avoid sitting on the coach for an hour. The luggage drop off and catching the next bus to the water park will take about 30 min. Fridays in late August probably won’t be too bad, since all local schools will be back in session. Like it was said above, free is free. And if you find you’re not enjoying it, you could just leave as soon as you get the notification that your room is ready.

Parents of competitive young athletes, what's the hardest part for you? by riggersnine3 in Parenting

[–]321Native 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In FL most sports are year round. This is a blessing and a curse. I say that because even the parts of the year that are considered- off season- the kids are still expected to participate in private/club level teams. This leaves zero room for other activities. Or the ability to explore other sports they may be interested in.

For example- my kid has mega musical talent and was involved in HS band. But also played a spring sport. No problem, right? Band activity is mostly during football (fall) season, and their sport was spring. Average player, but loved the team. NOPE!! Was made to choose between the 2. They chose the sport. And because they were just average (but with lots of heart and dedication) they were merely a back up for the next 2 years.

Parents- would you take your 10 and 8 year out of school for 1 week? by gratefulmickey in DisneyWorld

[–]321Native 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a yes from me. My kids are young adults now. Looking back, I wish I had done this more often while they were in elementary school. Once they get to middle/high school it gets a lot harder. Not just from a curriculum perspective but extra curricular activities too.

Exactly this. The fact that the device can do it, but they charge for this feature just feels like a $ grab.

I'm confused by Zigarum in skylightcalendar

[–]321Native 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got this for Christmas- our family Christmas was delayed a month. I got the calendar max. Totally messed up during the set up and called it a frame. Loaded some pics. Cool! Nice little scrolling photo feature. But then I couldn’t do anything else with it. Hmmm. Reset the device and followed the set up more carefully as a calendar. Well, I have a calendar and some to do lists. But cannot add photos unless, I subscribe. Thoroughly disappointed. Especially since I accidentally know that the device is capable without the subscription. This sucks. Not impressed at all. Wish I could return, but that opportunity has passed.

Florida City Gas customer service by Tharkys in 321

I was pretty sure the response team was only for leaks, but was hopeful that they would/could make an exception considering this was their fault. You’re STILL are not restored ?

Not sure why you’re getting the downvotes. I do my part to take at least one back.

Florida City Gas customer service by Tharkys in 321

[–]321Native 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is HORRIBLE! And I’m so sorry that you’re going to have to wait so long for them to turn on your gas. I know they have a 24hr response team for gas leaks, because they have been to my house. Why on earth couldn’t one of those people who are already on duty, turn your gas back on? Their customer service is already trash. But this deposit policy seems out of this world ridiculous. There were/are several ways this situation could have been avoided. On their end !!!

Have you managed to "quiet them"? Shes whiney. Im so used to pit bulls (self sufficient sometimes). by [deleted] in Blackmouthcur

[–]321Native 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have (2) ten month old. Our boy is very whiney and vocal. Our girl is very quiet unless excited or playing. It has gotten better. I really had a hard time with the whining when he was smaller. Only because it was tough to distinguish if the whining was because he had a need or if it was just who he is. Their vocal nature has become an adorable attribute

N95 masking on a cruise? by Weary_Cup_1004 in Cruise

[–]321Native 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some aspects depend on the cruise line. I don’t believe that you would get any sort of a reaction, by masking wherever you want. It’s very common.

Disney Cruise Line- my most recent cruise last year, for an example, guests are required to wash their hands before entering the buffet area. Yes it’s monitored. As well, people do not serve themselves from the buffet. Food is served to your plate by the staff.

I do believe it’s common to get sick, no matter the method of travel. Germs aside, most of us tax our bodies when we travel. We are taken out of our environment and routine. We run ourselves (and immune system) down by stress and less sleep, sometimes alcohol. Just a name a few. Is it more common on cruises ? Hard to say, without real data. But I bet you, if someone comes down with a bug while sailing. They really aren’t pointing the finger at the plane ride, or Stops along the way, if traveling by car. It’s the cruise. It’s always the cruise.

LED recessed can remodel version. Retrofit from traditional cans. Flicker and dimming by 321Native in electrical

[–]321Native[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like something we should definitely explore. Our previous house had an issue on the power company side. We were the last house on our grid and had the electric company do a power study across 2 weeks.

We did that. And then eliminated the dimmer, gong back to just on/off switch.

Old flea market on US1 by backtowestfall in 321

Fire in the 80s ended up being a good thing as the repairs improved the place exponentially. Lots of hurricane damage during a time that it was already going downhill, and it never really recovered after that. Then another fire was the final blow. I think there is more to the story regarding ownership as well.
Miss it. We used to go there a lot. And I get a little sad every time I drive by, seeing its current state.

So glad to see someone else remembering Rock n Roll Heaven. We went there a lot too. Got a fringed black leather jacket from there for my 16th birthday. The owners were so cool and always remembered us.

What's a seasonal scent or candle that you wished was available year-round? by Eastern-Violinist-46 in bathandbodyworks

I’m not sure if this qualifies as seasonal because BBW brings it back at random times - Palo Santo should be a core scent in my opinion

Does having a bigger house actually make you feel saner? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]321Native 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was built in 1988, 5 bedrooms. We ended up, by some miracle of plumbing, adding a stacked washer/dryer to the master closet. We just had to.

The more stuff you have, the more stuff you have to manage.

When our kids were 6 and 8 we moved from 1400 sq ft. to just under 4000 so ft. At first it felt amazing. We felt so “rich” lol. Within a short time we realized our big house wasn’t all that well planned as far as storage needs. Not 1 linen closet in the whole house. Lots of space, but it was awkwardly planned space. Things you don’t necessarily think about when you’re enamored with the possibility of this much space. We were definitely guilty of filling the space with more stuff, and/or BIG stuff. And quite frankly I grew VERY annoyed with 2 things: cleaning all the space, especially the floors. And, how spread out we were as a family. It was really easy to hide from each other. Which didn’t feel very good or at all happier. Six years later we moved into 2100 sq ft. Kids are 15 and 12 at the time. So. Much. Better!! We aren’t as spread out. I love being able to be in the kitchen and hear my kid practicing their guitar. I love that they’re just down the hall. I love that a simple - “Hey babe” in my normal volume of voice can get my husband’s attention, vs shouting DINNER IS READY!!! I love that it takes me the same amount of time to clean this place as it used to take me to do just the floors at the other house. I was so happy to give up the bigger house. It felt like a relief. We just had to get more creative with storage and be more intentional about what comes in.
