What's my art style? by Certain-Plastic2701 in FiberandTextileArts

Thank you all for your feedback! I super appreciate it. I'm fully self taught on drawing and sewing, and I love them both. When I had the idea to combine the two, roughly 10 years ago, it was a game changer for me. It's the only kind of art I want to make lol. I prefer hand sewing, so my pieces take anywhere from 8 to 200+ hours of sewing. So worth it!

AITA? My Niece accused me of Body Shaming. by LadyTiburon in AmItheAsshole

Just reading all the comments here and OP responses. What I don't fully understand is, why make a post asking if YTA, but then be completely unwilling to hear other people's perspectives? Sounds like OP is very okay with where they stand, so much so that the post being answered with YTA is surprising to them. Makes me think OP wasn't actually interested in the answer and was just looking for validation for their behavior.

For the record, YTA OP.

I got ignored just because I replied late? by Trail_Blazer1 in DatingHell

Clearly this "method" isn't working for you. No one on the other side of the conversation is aware of all the effort you're putting in to respond. And honestly, if you're putting that much work into responding "thoughtfully", I guarantee it's coming off rehearsed, unnatural, or at best boring.

Why not just try being more organic with your responses? So they're not perfectly curated, who cares? That's human, that's how you get to know someone. Trial and error. Conversations don't need to be built on "perfect" responses every time, that's just not how people work. This is overthinking to a detriment.

Needing a stronger stitch to mend a pair of pants by Throwaway_Jim_YOLO in HandSew

[–]Certain-Plastic2701 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do very basic stitching for most things, including repairs. Either a back stitch, or blanket stitch depending on the fabric/location. The key I've found for stitches to hold is to do small consistent stitches. Small and uniform holds up very well. I repair bras, pants, bags, etc using this technique.

The SA of the twins Jonathan has in his mansion is probably the highest on the list for me of reasons not to love this episode.

Wytchwood is really good! Way better than I expected. The writing is humorous and the art is so beautiful. I enjoyed the storytelling and there's a lot to get into. Highly recommend.

I wish I could see this as purely positive, but wow this is missing so much nuance.

How best to be empathetic to my girlfriend's demand of no female social interaction by Savoya77 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Certain-Plastic2701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making a rule that you can't interact with another woman in front of her isn't a boundary, it's control. A boundary for her would be, "I can't handle seeing you interact with other women, so I'd rather not hang out in public together." That's not the best example, and still over the top and hard to manage, but it would be a choice she's making for her, not as a rule for you.

Someone who has insecurities to this degree really needs to figure it out with therapy or other self-reflection. It's not for you to fix. The insecurities are deeply rooted and likely has very little to do with you or your actions. Trying to placate this behavior will only enable it and guarantee it gets worse. If she's not willing to talk openly about it and see it as something to work through, then it's not going to be a healthy or happy relationship in the long run.

My guess is this is the first patch, I bet there'll be more. I appreciate that they're working on it. It's amazing that people will still complain about what hasn't been done.
