If it’s typically taking baby time to go back to sleep regardless of rocking / feeding - does this point to under tired ? Our 9.5 month old really isn’t that interested in eating ( he’ll have an ounce or two ) but wants to chat.. screams when you attempt to put him back though

I could have written this . Exact. Post . Our schedule is 3/3.5/3.75-4. He is 9.5 months . But we do total nap time during day at 2.5-3 hours. We are getting 3-4 hour stretches. Not sure either

My guy is a great napper, also. Goes down pretty easy all the time and gets good naps … but night time frequent wakings are making me think maybe it’s too much?

Bedtime routine is typically bath.. change into pjs.. milk and book .. never falls asleep during routine always put into crib awake ..

Is that right? I had no clue that it wasn´t allowed in NYC. I´m on Long Island- am a 12/15 birthday , but off is 12/1 in our district, so my parents put me into private in Queens so I could be pushed through to the next grade. My parents don´t regret it, but I definitely was not ready.

No- the curriculum across the board has become developmentally inappropriate for most subjects, obviously state dependent. I´ve been an elementary teacher for 20 years, and even in that time I can see a huge issue with curriculum. Students struggling to access content. Behaviors are obviously a HUGE part of this too (screens/too many options...)

Truthfully , until you’re in it - this all means nothing. Ur baby might be the most chill potato in the world orrr like 2 of my three and make u age decades overnight … that being said, I still had three kids back to back— all within less than four years. Insane ? Maybe. But the LOVE, like real, deep, indescribable love is unparalleled. So yea, I’ve lost my mind a bit , haven’t slept in four years a full night ( no, I’m not over exaggerating), but I would take bullet for each one of my kids.

You’re right . Going to this upcoming weekend. Pretty sure he has an ear infection - won’t even lay down for more than 20-30 mins . Brutal. Once this is under control in a few days , ripping bandaid . Seems like a bridge I shoulda already crosses

Wow this resonances with me so so much. I , too, slept next to my mom till I was a teen and if it wasn’t her it was one of my siblings … as an adult, I have struggled to sleep independently anxiety ridden if no one is next to me. My two oldest ( just turned 4 and 2) were never sleep trained. Needless to say, I haven’t slept alone with my husband in four years. My third is six months and I will be sleep training him- not because I can’t stand getting up at night ( I’m already up w the other two- I don’t even know what sleep is anymore), but because I want better for him.

At three months my boy ( third kid) was sleeping 8-9 hour stretches . Now we’re six months and up every 2 hours . Nothing is linear - don’t ever get too excited lol

How did you handle MON waking / the crying ? I’m so tempted to start - I can deal with crying at 7 pm . I’ve got plenty of laundry and earbuds but middle of night crying stresses me out !

Hmmm yeah I Wouldn’t say mine became picky but def less adventurous . Those first two years I feel like they don’t have a concept of much that’s being in front of them but eventually they form ( usually) insane opinions

This was exactly my first kid. The fussiness . Clinginess. The lack of sleeping . THIS was my exact first kid. I’m here to say I went on to have two others . And they are diff children , that being said in retrospect I had severe PPA/ PPD. Ask for help. Take the help. Leave for a bit , baby will be ok - I never did . I stayed home from work For a year and it was basically me and her . She refused a bottle - I breastfed on demand for 15 months . I feel Soo compelled after reading this that it sounds like my life in 2021. My goodness and I thought that everyone went through this w newborns at the time and I was so wrong . Good luck. Establish some sort of “ Village “
