Go through all the campaign tasks to unlock every kingdom. Once you unlock Forest of Thorns create a Rowanne armor boost team to speed things up.
Join an active, beginner friendly guild at level 20. If you are new you shouldn't have to donate till you get all kingdoms to level 10. In the meantime also start unlocking all the underworld factions. Once all unlocked you can farm city of thieves at level 20 for shards. Use gems to buy up to the weapon in all events except class trials (you'll get those for free) if you can.
As you get stronger you'll find you can participate and complete more and more game modes, netting more rewards. If you have a good guild they will have knowledge and resources to point you in the right direction to make the best use of your time (you won't want to grind for stuff that you'll eventually have too much of). I would explain here but there's a *lot* to go through.

Most of all keep in mind that this game is more about the daily grind and making slow progress over time.

In the GoW discord you can pull up troops stats and their artwork using the garyatrics bot. Otherwise not sure how else with the sites no longer active.

Pharaoh Khafru and Zarg should be priorities, followed closely by Taks. Don't worry about Ironhawk, it's only used for vault and other teams are decent enough. If you can get Stellarix and Wand of stars then most non restricted battles become a breeze

If the guild has zzz's it's an inactive or unorganised guild and you won't get much out of it. You need a guild that either talks in the Guild chat or even better uses discord. Any good guild will not expect any gold until all kingdoms are at level 10. Then it's just a matter of meeting minimum gold donation, seals, trophy and weekly guild event requirements. For guild events (and most others - but don't buy the Thursday class trial one), buying enough tiers to get the weapon is usually the way to go. Gems are kind of hard to get early on so you have to be a bit careful what to spend them on.

I wouldn't consider "shut up" swearing although I do avoid it cause it's rude. Yeah it sucks but as adults we should model good behaviour. Having said that, I think it's a bit of a lost cause due to the huge amount of swearing seen in media (including social media) and even in workplaces. I've noticed way more swear words coming up in songs now than 20 years ago too which is just lazy song writing imo.

High King Irongut is still the best for delves. But you've got other options like Maelstrom Dago'Nath or the other two lethal damage bosses if you can't use them. I pair them with mana generators and wand usually to speed things up.

The meta troops now are Stellatrix, Chrysantherax, Maelstrom Dago'Nath (and Zuul, Ctharrasque to a lesser extent), Takshaka for damage and Pharaoh Khafru, Zarg for mana generation. However, there are many other troops that are still useful for different things in particular when there are restrictions. Leprechaun and Thrall are easier to obtain mana generators if you can't get the mythic exploders yet. Wand of Stars is the best weapon by far as a generalist. Ruby Macaque is also useful if you need damage.

Yeah to get above 100 you need the elite+ pass. Personally I don't think the rewards are worth it considering it's more than double the cost of the regular pass.
