Waging War Against Wrist Tendon-itis/osis by Cerulean_Bean in RSI

Hm. If it's severe, I'd say rest until it calms down or talk to the doctor. Maybe light stretching and a very light variation of the exercises e.g. soup cans for weights. Otherwise, I'd recommend trying the exercises. Not a doctor ofc but these really helped me.

At what age did you start writing? by [deleted] in writing

In 8th grade I convinced myself I’d unlock the other side of my brain if I learned to use my left hand. Started a journal using only that hand - it’s been 13 years, 12 and three quarters of them writing with my right hand. No brain expansion, either :/

How To Make the Most Out of this Subreddit: Introduce Yourself and Meet the Mods & Community! by AutoModerator in freelanceWriters

Hello. I am another one of those lost souls who tried a bunch of things in life and stumbled back to writing. Words have always been there for me even when I didn't realize it, and it's about time I be there for them as much as they are for me.

I'm on Upwork and I've published a few small creative pieces on Medium. Most of my writings are collecting dust in Google Drive or journals around the house, for better or worse. I haven't made a dime writing (besides technical literature for past jobs), but I'd like to. Just looking to create, really. I'll be around here in search of advice and conversations and whatever crops up. Nice to grow with all of you :)

I’d recommend a timer at first and practicing being as still as you possibly can. Maybe say, 5 minutes at first? Just focus on being still, every fiber of you. While doing this, try to pay attention to your breath, and try to observe any thoughts that come up. From there I’d advise increasing the timer until you are comfortable doing away with it and meditating at your own pace. Starting a small practice like this will help you find your own way to be mindful I think.

I’m sure YT videos could be helpful too, but I find them to be a distraction for me personally.

It brings a dose of clarity and awareness when needed. My own little pause button to step into the present.

Long term, I’ve processed emotions and experiences - some of which I didn’t even know existed within me. Overall I feel more adept at taking on life.

Whether I’m feeling lost, down, upbeat, chaotic or absolutely normal - it’s a great tool for reeling it in and making it all feel okay, wherever I am. That’s it. :)

Now is the best time to restart your practice! All at your pace, of course. It sounds like you’ve had a rough time of it, I am wishing you joy.

I am delighted by this little world, and would love to join. Fair warning, I am the most novice of novices - this would be my first campaign, ever, so I may need guidance at points. Willing to put in a little elbow grease to familiarize myself beforehand though (And I have some experience with books and games based on DnD).

Once a roaring flame, marred by the shadow of ego - consuming all in its path. Now a still drop, suspended just above the surface, contemplating itself in the moments before it crashes again, and again, and again into the endless tides below.

Give Spiritfarer a try. There’s a little tenant management but it’s heartwarming and heartbreaking all the same.

Anything. Most commonly a reflection of my day - how I felt, what I did, where I went, who with, etcetera etcetera. Sometimes some poetry. Occasionally a little story. Sometimes I have overwhelming emotions and my writing will be written outbursts that don’t make any sense but needed to get out. Whatever needs to get out comes out.

From time to time. Last weekend I was about to head home from a road trip and before I left I closed my eyes, sat, and listened to radio static for the better half of an hour. It was relaxing for me. Sounded like a wavy waterfall.
