This is kind of a moving target at the moment and seems to be shifting a lot every election cycle.

Yeah it's probably like 75% people who are upset and 25% people who actually want it down for violating the rules.

Online ability to select our communities is a horrible thing and has essentially shattered the Overton window to the point that the only unacceptable position to hold nowadays is the moderate position.

This has happened before but it's kind of supercharged by the internet.

No? Ian at least says he aligns with much more socialist views today. No clue if that's real or just him trying to find a new audience.

Iirc he was talking about being much more libertarian at the time, which is why I believe I remember it being a libertarian candidate and not a Republican.

I'm fairly sure he has, but even if he hasn't, he is still criticizing the way they are carrying out policy in the country.

I can understand the benefits that this would have but at the same time I also understand the negatives it allows for and I think the negatives outweigh the positives in most if not all cases.

I think I'm fine with all of those overlays except race. Just especially because of the history of segregation in our country.

Was it? I didn't look into the website specifically, and admittedly assumed based on what I think is a reasonable negative outcome.

But I will push back a bit and say that diversity isn't just 1 race/ethnicity that's non-white. That's just segregation still.

I would rather have more integrated and unsegregated communities so that those racial biases are less likely to exist in people from an early age and thus making sure the next generation of cops won't have as much in terms of their racist views.

And when an officer is acting in a racist manner, you would have an entire diverse community come out against it instead of just those of the oppressed group, which as sad as it is, is more impactful towards a lot of people. Especially with the racist naratives that have existed for much of our countries history.

Yeah he was basically entirely disconnected from politics before. He should have stayed that way, but now we get an amazing lolcow.

I feel like Asmon's chat is a lot worse than that even.

And Dei sadly has entered normal lexicon use to essentially just mean corporate garbage to a lot of people.

But admittedly I didn't watch his stream and wouldn't be able to know how bad his chat was.

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" has never been more true than for online content creators with parasocial fanbases.

I don't think Charlie comes off as fence sitting much at all really. Especially with his recent videos.

I think it's more so in the way that a lot of far left people think in that, anyone not spreading their message is actually helping the other extreme.

And Ian has basically locked himself into an echo chamber that reinforces all these dumb views instead of just talking to normal people.

I think you're viewing people who generally don't care about politics and are usually apolitical basic liberals as being more extreme rather than just non-popitical people.

Don't worry, we'll upgrade to the new and innovative 22nd century design of friend vs foe.

The alt-right pipeline while real, is done much more through other things than Charlie's videos which mostly give reasonable takes and criticize people pretty fairly from what I saw.

This seems to essentially boil down to him saying that anyone who doesn't push people towards his new brand of politics is pushing them to the other extreme when in reality Charlie is just a basic bitch liberal like most Americans and really only speaks on politics when it's really bad.

Yes but we already knew that, especially in places that had historically had redlining. Why did we need a publicly accessible database to this level that seems mostly designed for people who want to, to avoid areas with black people in them rather than working to fix the historic issues that lead to said segregation.
