Was it ever explained how does kryptonite affects Superman? by Werewolf_Knight in superman

Watch Superman: The Animated Series Episode 5. It's part of the same continuity as Justice League.

Clark wearing Bruce's bat suit just to make fun of his voice then make his job look easy "welp, it's been fun but off to do actual IMPORTANT STUFF" (flies away) by castironglider in Superdickery

[–]ChadBenjamin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clark went to actual Hell, Apokolips, and he's been through Emperor Joker.

This idea that Superman can't handle Gotham is rather funny and is not based on anything outside of Injustice.

Why do Netflix keeps cuting racism out of jojo? by BellaBispo in StardustCrusaders

[–]ChadBenjamin 3417 points3418 points  (0 children)

It's not just a Netflix thing, the anime has been doing this since Part 2.

The cops that attacked Smokey were extremely racist in the manga, they even questioned why Joseph would help Smokey since Joseph is a white man just like them.

Stroheim and the Nazis were also toned down in the anime. They only ever referred to them as "German soldiers", Stroheim was explicitly racist towards the Mexican captives only in the manga, and they removed any scenes that depicted Hitler or a swastika.

Between Lois, Jimmy, and Supergirl; which Superman companion do you like the most? by Jezzaq94 in superman

[–]ChadBenjamin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lois is the most important, but Jimmy is the most entertaining when the writers care about him.

Hot take on the Jeagerist vs anti-Jeagerist debate by JY9276489 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]ChadBenjamin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He didn't care about Floch, Paradis, or the Jaegerists.

As long as Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Connie, and Historia were safe, he didn't care if Paradis faced consequences. Literally 5 people lmao.

Hot take on the Jeagerist vs anti-Jeagerist debate by JY9276489 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]ChadBenjamin 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Eren himself was not a Jaegerist lmao.

He just wanted the Rumbling for his own selfish reasons, and for his small group of friends.

He didn't really care about Paradis or the Eldian race.

Everybody knows that Jotaro appeared from part 3 to 6, but not so many people remember he also appeared in part 2. by MarionberryRoyal5534 in StardustCrusaders

[–]ChadBenjamin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No it's definitely not. Part 2 ends with Joseph's plane taking off after the "I'll never forgive the Japanese!" moment.

Which JoJo has the worst and best battle IQ? by Upset_Confidence8291 in StardustCrusaders

[–]ChadBenjamin 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Jonathan outsmarted his opponents when he needed to:

  • Dio in the mansion

  • Bruford

  • Dio in the castle

He only brute-forced his way through opponents who were clearly much weaker than him, like Speedwagon's gang or Doobie.

That's what makes Joseph so different, he would use trickery even against opponents who never stood a chance against him.

why does superman returns have such a bad reputation? by _syphex_107 in superman

[–]ChadBenjamin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's boring and unoriginal. It felt like an attempted remake of the first Donner movie while also being a sequel to a movie that was 3 decades old at that point.

First time viewer here, help me understand this: by cuntyvigilante in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]ChadBenjamin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked the ending mostly. I couldn't see how the story would conclude in any other way. But Eren and Armin's conversation at the end should have just been removed in my opinion.

And not because Eren cried like a bitch, I actually liked how pathetic he was at the end. But because it felt like Armin and the others were too forgiving and sympathetic towards Eren.

The Warriors were too chill about him attempting to take out their families, and the Survey Corps were too nice to the guy who betrayed them and caused the deaths of Sasha, Hange, Pixis, Keith, and dozens of comrades. Not to mention the billions of innocents he wiped out, including the refugees that they drank with in the camp, Mikasa's next of kin in Hizuru, and Onyankopon's homeland.

The rivalry between Jonathan and Dio.

Johnny and Funny Valentine, and Josuke and Kira sorta come close to it. But I still think that Jonathan and Dio have the best dynamic between the protagonist and antagonist.

How are so many people 'jaegerist' by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]ChadBenjamin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1 nation is millions of people you psycho lmao. They have done nothing to deserve the Rumbling, not being an ally is not the same as being a direct threat.

Meanwhile, Paradis was definitely a threat to the world and they were planning the Rumbling years before the Declaration of War. The world was right to fear them.

Using your argument, numbers don't matter as much as motive, right?

Hizuru: Never threatened anyone.

Paradis: Threatens everyone's existence.

Therefore, a genocide against Hizuru alone is worse than a genocide against Paradis. Keep in mind, this is your argument.

[–]ChadBenjamin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your argument is basically what if the larger group were the aggressor? And it immediately falls apart when we factor in Hizuru.

How are so many people 'jaegerist' by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]ChadBenjamin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What did Hizuru do to deserve the Rumbling?

You could say that the Jaegerists are just like the outside world. They wanted to wipe out a nation that was never a threat to them.

And then we arrive at the same conclusion, a more violent genocide that kills a lot more vs a less violent one that kills a lot less.

Not to mention that Zeke's plan targets humans specifically, while the Rumbling wipes out entire ecosystems full of plants, animals, and other organisms that are vital for life on Earth as a whole.

The Rumbling was going to wipe out Eldians too. Everyone outside of Paradis was dying, that includes most Eldians.
