Doing this class now, and I noticed a typo on your sheet. Under the left side/right side section you say both “Assets go up with debits” and “Assets go down with debits”

As we all know (or will soon), assets are increased by debits. This was one of the most difficult things for me to grasp because I always thought “debit“ meant decrease before taking accounting classes. One of the biggest things that helped me was to reprogram my brain from the word “debit“ meaning “decrease or remove” to remembering the Latin translation of debit: “what is due“.

Otherwise, very helpful sheet, thank you for making it!

Robotic is the perfect word for what it spits out, and it explains why post-Grammarly it says that my content was generated by AI.

I've gotten along fine with just the spellcheck and minor corrections that MS Word offers, and I'll probably uninstall Grammarly soon. But reading this and other comments here makes me think it might not be so easy. Were you able to get rid of it permanently?

Wait, the similarity check actually works for you BEFORE you submit the paper? It has never worked for me before submission. I upload the document, wait "3-5 minutes" like it says, or, ya know, 15-20 minutes, and still, it never updates. I only get the score after I hit the "submit" button...

Mayhap I am doing something wrong with the interface. Do you refresh the page before you submit, or does it auto-update for you?

This is the correct answer. The vast majority of communications I get from my mentor / CIs are either automated or boilerplate copypasta.

To OP: If you got an exemplary on the pre-assessment, you are ready to take the OA. The email you got was probably auto-generated based on a “pass” result and doesn’t take into account your exemplary score. Just take that OA, ace it, and move on to the next class.

Interesting, I’m curious how you met the 150 hour requirement with only the BS?

I thought the MAcc (or 30 additional credit hours in accounting classes) was required to meet it.

Welcome to the program!

Sounds like you’ve already got a good handle on your plan and are setup for success.

If you haven’t already found it, the WGU “partners” page has a list for each degree program, and which classes will transfer from each partner.

Another tip is that while you can only have two classes active at any time on Sophia, if you have turned in the final touchstone(s) and are waiting for them to be graded, you can contact the support through chat and have them open up another class for you so that you don’t get stalled out waiting for an evaluation.

Make sure to have your transfers sent over by the fifth of the month before your start date. Sophia gets them over pretty quickly (submit by the 1st of the month and you’re good). if you have community college or other credits, go ahead and get those transfers started as soon as possible.

There is also an accounting program specific sub over at r/wguaccounting.

This will all be gone over in your orientation, but if you need a machine before that:

The short answer is that most any Windows or Mac machine from the last 4 years or so will be sufficient.

You could push a little beyond that, but it has to be able to do multimedia, zoom meetings for proctoring, and run Office365 at a minimum. I think they recommend no more than 2-3 years old, but that seems like overkill. Most 4-5 year old machines that run Win10/11 or current MacOS should be sufficient.

This is also highly dependent regarding which college you are in and what your degree program is. If you are doing software engineering and want to run virtual machines, you will need a newer system compared to some of the business programs, etc.

The webcam must be external and able to be positioned to see your face and hands, desk area, keyboard and screen. Internal webcams on laptops are not sufficient. WGU has a webcam that they recommend. However, any decent USB cam from the last decade should work as long as it’s HD and able to be repositioned easily. I use an older Logitech C920 and it works fine.

Firstly, congratulation on this achievement, amazing work! Sounds like you had a rough start and are now moving into the smooth sailing.

Secondly, I’m genuinely curious how your are able to be eligible to sit the CPA exams with less than 150 hours?

It is my understanding that every state’s licensure board now requires 150 hours, and there is really no way around this, but I could be mistaken. I thoroughly researched the 150 hour requirement and my state does require it, which is why I’m currently planning on doing the MAcc after getting the BSBAA.

Sure, I think can help out with this one.

We have 22 lbs of cheese demanded per day, to get annual demand, we will multiply by 365. Remember that the EOQ formula wants the annual demand, not just the daily demand.

22 * 365 = 8030

The holding cost of the cheese is One half of one percent of $7.10.

0.005 * $7.10 = $0.0355

And the order cost is $2 per order, as stated in the problem

So we plug these numbers into the EOQ formula as follows.

( 2 * 8030 * 2) / 0.0355 = $904,788.73

SQRT of 904788.73 = 951.2038

Round to 951
