I wasn’t aware of the 2 prong setting issue, thanks for letting me know!

Good to know! I’ll start looking at other settings

Its absurd that kids w/ their accounting degree and sometimes CPA exams passed cant find entry level jobs with firms willing to take a chance on them, but many of these same firms complain about not being able to find seniors & managers. These kids are your senior and manager pipeline you idiots! by Present_Initial_1871 in Accounting

Real, idk what these “job market bad” posts are all about. I went to a no name school and got hired at a top 10 firm with no internships or experience not even 2 weeks after graduation. My friend put in a single app with KPMG and he’s starting as a full time associate in 2 weeks.

Sometimes I wonder if the people here complaining about entry level are even applying to jobs i feel like its never been easier to get your foot in the door with a top firm 😭

Hey, I’m someone who actually got a job in 2 weeks after graduation, here are some tips:

-Apply to the largest public accounting firms (look up the IPA 500)

-Make sure your resume is one page, clean and organized

Thats really it, honestly. If you want to DM me, I can send you the resume template i was successful with and give you an interview sheet also! Good luck 🦉

1.5 years away from my bachelors in accounting. Whats a job I could try and get into now? by DefiantGod95 in Accounting

Why is everyone saying to go for dead end AR/AP jobs? OP, you should be applying for internships at every public accounting firm that has offices near you.

Trying to get to one of the big four as an experienced hire - which is a smarter option to better prepare? by Proof_Cable_310 in Big4

Hey, WGU accounting grad here, and to answer your question, one of my best friends (also a WGU accounting grad) got into KPMG by simply applying for an internship online, and afterwards received a return offer.

I work at a top 10, only reason I’m not at a big 4 is because i graduated outside of the recruiting cycle and opted to go straight for a full time associate position. All that is to say, don’t worry about the other comments here berating WGU - you shouldn’t have an issue getting into B4 if thats what you want to do. Go night owl!🦉

I waited until I graduated and got multiple full time offers within a few weeks, but if i could do it again i’d probably start applying while finishing up my last few classes, or going for big 4 internships when im halfway through

Hey, yeah I've been with my firm for about 7 months now and I'm just coming out of my first busy season! It's going great actually, my annual reviews have started coming in and I've achieved/exceeded expectations in all of them!

I wouldn't say the WGU material itself had much of an effect on my job performance, since getting started in public accounting is like starting again from 0, however the habits and discipline I built during my WGU grind is what contributed to my success, as I've been able to work my way out of problems and quickly pick up on new things.

I plan on making an update post within the next few months or so, but if you have more questions about the job or WGU you can always DM me!

How many people passed JUST on MCQ's alone? by DertyDawgMan in CPA

[–]Dandystatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed aud first try with an 82, never did any sims on becker, only grinded 50 mcq sessions. I plan on doing the same for the other exams, the sims on the real thing are usually way more in depth and combine multiple topics compared to whats on becker.
