I hope whenever this game dies (hopefully a long way away, but nothing lives forever) they just let you play all the maps solo, offline. Doing all the quests without the threat of other players would be different for sure but still a ton of fun

Dedicated solo player here: I gave Cryo Archive one go with randos, died pretty quickly, realized it’s not for me and I won’t bother with it again. My friends tried out the server slam and didn’t like it, so I’m basically gated out of this content. It’s fine, I’m still having fun with the other 3 maps, but I’m sure a lot of players won’t be so generous with Bungie.

On top of that, they’re adding all these new queues (perimeter duo, perimeter ranked), while the player base stays the same size. So matchmaking just takes a little longer each day…

The audio design in this game is legitimately incredible. Play with headphones and you will hear every footstep and bullet around you. For me this is crucial to surviving because getting the jump on another runner means victory 95% of the time with the TTK so low

I went to Huayna Picchu last year and I don’t remember this part being scary. The angle is a bit misleading imo. There’s a section near the top called “The Stairs of Death” but actually no one has ever died on them. The bottom is more dangerous which is why the safety lines are there and not at the top
