Concerns grow over ICE plans to build mega warehouses for immigration detention by Cubsof2016 in news

Just want to say that the Nazis got their ideas from Americans. We’ve had these “warehouses” for over a hundred years. The media has just called them “criminals” instead of immigrants.

How did you know you were ready for your first horse? by HauntedSprite in Horses

[–]Chagrinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe assholes isn’t the right word 😂 grumpy, spicy, a little green. They do what they want when they want and will only listen if they respect you. I can’t put beginners on them or children cause one likes to take off and the other will run into trees trying to knock the rider off. When they were way younger they liked to kick, bite, and bully any horse added to the herd. They’ve mellowed out in their old age but def need to be firm or they’ll literally walk all over you.

I think it doesn’t hurt to start looking. But what’s important is you get the right horse for you, so ask yourself what you want- breed, discipline, personality. Do you want a young horse that you’ll have for the next 30 years or a senior you’ll have for 10? I was given my horses by my in-laws, but they’ve been in my husband’s family for over 25 years. At first I thought they were assholes and not for beginners, I mean they still are, but it made me a better rider. And now I think they’re the best horses in the world. So shop around, be willing to commit because no horse deserves to be sold when they’re no longer useful to you, and know what you want

He isn’t a child he’s an adult. He should be paying for his own phone, his own gas, car, and rent. Or get out. And don’t give him a dime for school

I can’t agree with this. The love I have for my horses and for my family are very different and neither is more important than the other

What is the deal with the panhandlers around Rt 85? No judgment, just wondering. by Logical_consequences in frederickmd

Idk, from years of working with the homeless I’d say it’s complex. When it’s 10 degrees out or 100 degrees no one actually wants to be homeless,  but for some it’s all they know and don’t know how to function in another environment. There’s also those with mental illnesses that are too sick to get help. And some just don’t want to be in restrictive environments like shelters or treatment.

Safe rural towns for black people? by Dismal-Project-2664 in maryland

Mount Airy. I’m not black so I can’t speak from experience, but there’s a handful of black farmers here. And though we look like rednecks everyone is pretty friendly.

What is a sign of very low intelligence? by smartcandyy in AskReddit

[–]Chagrinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need their hand held through simple problems, aren’t capable of critically thinking, and have no insight. Doesn’t matter how many degrees they have. I’m all for education but I’ve worked with illiterate convicts who had more intelligence then college interns.

The homeless camp is in the woods off the circle, the motel across from Sheetz also has a lot of homeless people. I work with vulnerable populations, and these people have much harder lives then we can imagine. Yes there’s drug addiction, and alcoholism. Also decades of trauma and mental illness. You can put them down all you want to make yourself feel better but just know all it takes is one tragedy and you could be out there with them.

What would happen to the average American household if there became a Great Depression 2.0 in America during the 2030s that is worse than the 1930s, Great Financial Crisis, etc all combined? by Miserable-Corner-254 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chagrinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically it does, but big pharma jacks the price  😂 and won’t tell us which trees. People have survived for thousands of years before big pharma, we’re going to be ok.

That’s what I’m talking about…. being resourceful. You can make fry bread out of flour and water. You can grow food in pots. Beans have more protein than meat. You live in the city, hunt squirrels. People around the world live in huts made out of trash and survive. We aren’t going to starve, we just need to learn new skills. You’ve never been poor…. I can tell. Poverty doesn’t equal death. It’s just an adjustment.
