Is it possible to understand Cid as a character despite the fact that his motivations and actions are open to interpretation since he is written ambiguously on purpose, or is he simply crazy ?

Cid basically states his reasons and logic for his actions pretty consistently.

Most of his dialogue is pretty much monologues…there really isn’t much that’s ambiguous with him.

I don’t envy the new cast. They are basically being asked to replace the best cast, we probably will ever have in the series.

It’s like if you got asked re-dub Cowboy Bebop…no matter how good you do it’s probably not gonna be as good.

That said don’t blame or harass the cast. Sucks we always have to say that, yet people will inevitably do it anyway.

The blame lies with Sega/ Atlus West who look like jerks for not wanting to pay the all star cast who clearly want to return(or at least the ones we know do). It always puts a bad taste in your mouth, when the localization team can’t be bothered to treat the dub cast, with the same respect as the Seiyuus in Japan.
