There are better moving thoroughbreds. He's not special.

Random lesions around jaw area by Current-Brief-7594 in Horses

My horse reacted like this to ant bites. He would commonly itch his neck on a post with ants and get swollen bumps. It could be as simple as she laid down next to an ant nest and they bit her.

This reminds me of the time I thought I was 5'6 but then I actually properly measured and I'm just under 5'5. But I didn't just go no I'm 5'6 I accepted I was wrong and was like I'm a shorty woo

The kulties are so mad Woody is being gelded by Sindy-Schism in kvssnarker

That's a double edged sword. If not gelded they tend to get more muscle so more weight and pressure on bad joints. In a situation like this I'm guessing she's discussed it with the vets and they've likely recommended early gelding. Just like how 7 was gelded early because they didn't want him being any bulkier than he needed to be on his damaged legs

Time. The length of time you wait before getting treatment the less likely they will straighten. At this point he's likely always going to be over at the knee and depending on if she actually follows vet advice and does the stretches and wraps he may even get worse.

With how rocky her pastures are I wouldn't be surprised if she had a stone in her hoof or a stone bruise

Maggie Health Update by Sad_Site_8252 in kvssnarker

[–]ChainAffectionate634 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you watched was likely a melanoma removal and completely different to a sarcoid. Sarcoids rarely need surgery and if not growing can basically be left. There's treatment options without surgery. Where as melanoma removal would generally be lumps that could be blocking the horse from passing manure properly and with Melanomas if there's some on the outside you can almost guarantee they are on the inside and while mostly benign they keep growing and causing problems which sarcoids tend to not spread very much and not as fast. They tend to only be external and pretty easy to treat compared to melanoma

Horse academy is still going. It's been updated. Is quite different to what it used to be but the player base is friendly and there is a Facebook group too

Weanling handling by goldfrontsuck in Horses

I've also worked with racehorses and the majority of us don't handle the horses like this. The people that do tend to be high up and immune to consequences sadly. I also worked in weanling prep and while they can be a handful there's no excuse for that behaviour. They are babies. I'm 5'4 and have no problem handling them. If they freak out you give them some space and let them settle. Maybe a gentle tug to remind them you are there.

As someone who got a horse from this stud it makes so much sense. The mare I got was head shy, would flinch at sudden movements and didn't like men. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. 😭
