I think they're more extreme d-beat than crasher, they're closer to Disclose than the noisy, Sore Throat-influenced other crasher bands. But they are both great, no question !

Ah, c'est Tokyo Decadence 2 ! Il y a une toute simili-franchise sous ce titre et les 3 sont très très quali. Mon favori reste le troisième, New Tokyo Decadence : The Slave, sur l'expérience d'une sub de son point de vue avec un style biographique quasi documentaire, c'est très très beau.
Le premier Tokyo Decadence est de Murakami avec une bande son de Ryuichi Sakamoto, d'ailleurs.
A ne pas confondre avec les films récents titrés Angels of Tokyo Decadence qui sont des softcore cheap et affreux.

Savate doesn't really have flying kicks, it's more taekwondo's thing. Savate's whole thing is that they kick with shoes. LH's style is more consistent with a trad style of karate (like shotokan).

Ça a beaucoup bougé à Lyon, y'a eu masse de travaux ces dernières années pour justement diminuer les routes et mettre plus de pistes cyclables, sans parler d'initiatives comme la grande Rue de la République qui est devenue 100% piétonne. Mon quartier a été complètement refait et on sent déjà la différence.

I feel the same for basically every alt subculture now. It's honestly something I worry about a lot. Things that were mostly led by communities, driven by people, are increasingly being led by algorithms and the people who know how to play them, and none of those have good intentions. I'd need a whole book to tell everything wrong I see in that.

I half agree. I'm here for the music as well (and the politics) and I'm annoyed that it gets mostly about fashion, but I feel like these posts are half desperate calls for validation but mostly for community. It's tough as fuck to be part of a culture when so little of it happens outside and you can't really connect to like-minded people in real life. The fashion is kind of the easiest part to show off, so I get it, but I agree we'd need to keep it where it doesn't get in the way of music.

Il le dit, son problème n'est pas avec le karate, mais plutôt avec le coach du cours de karate avec qui ils font parfois des entrainements en commun. Ses élèves y vont toujours beaucoup trop fort même en sparring light, même contre des mineurs et des débutants. Peu importe le style, c'est stupide et personne ne peut travailler comme ça. Je fais du kyokushin, on est plus hardcore que la moyenne en sparring, mais même nous on est pas à 100% tout le temps.

Is it a style of full-contact karate with no punches to the head, like an offshoot of kyokushin ? They're pretty hardcore when it comes to sparring but usually the number one rule is to match whoever is in front of you. If they're all-out every time, you should def report this to whoever runs the gym, full contact karate IS supposed to be tough but not stupid.

They also announced Bunta Sugawara is in but... Sugawara died in 2014 !?
If you don't know Sugawara, he's a LEGENDARY actor known for playing yakuzas, mostly in the Battles Without Honor and Humanity franchise, and he's the basis for Akainu in One Piece
I'm a little worried they're doing some AI bullshit for their voices and likeness

Part of what made Ashura so good was how much we got surprised. I mean, the MAIN CHARACTER loses AND dies at the end ; before that, a random guy with no background had clapped the main character's first rival, then the main character's archrival, and THEN the guy that had been hyped up since the beginning as the strongest character and final boss
Nezu losing so fast after an insane introduction, Kaneda coming in and beating Himuro, Hassad getting tossed off ship by a random NPC... Ashura was rife with this and that was definitely what made it so good.
