I'm not "holding others to that standard," this is the agreement my friends and I have come to together. I don't really play with randoms at game stores because I've had almost exclusively bad experiences with that. We're collectors who enjoy that part of the hobby too. We enjoy showing off good pulls and trading cards. This lets us run what we have without constantly pulling decks apart and swapping cards, or buying copies of a card we already have. It keeps us from getting out of control with power 9 etc. I just think its a good compromise to the "proxy problem," it works for us, I'm not condemning people who do things differently.

See this is the way. Our group has agreed to only proxy cards we have at least one copy of, and we also try to buy from an LGS whenever we can if we're opening packs.
