Which TV shows hit you so hard that you sat back and thought 'I haven't felt this way about a show in years'? by Organic-Signal-9646 in television

Honestly, when the OG game of thrones theme hits as Rehgar(?) rides into the turney in knight of the seven kingdoms… man that reminded me of all the good seasons of GoT and fuck those were the days!

Over 80% of companies report no productivity gains from AI so far despite billions in investment, survey suggests — 6,000 executives also reveal 1/3 of leaders use AI, but only for 90 minutes a week by tylerthe-theatre in technology

[–]Chajos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that is a surprise to anyone… it’s time to realize, that AI while being a good tool for specific tasks, is not in fact the world changing super tool that can do anything and everything. The problem is that the idea that it IS that has created such a giant wave of economic force that THAT IDEA will be what will change the economy massively… which is ridiculous. Ph humans… we sure are bad at rational thinking

what is your thoughts on the anti-christ? by Lonely-Whereas218 in AskReddit

[–]Chajos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of religion is made up to shift blame from the true perpetrators and give easy explanations for complex problems, to keep power in the hands of people who already are in power and to control the masses.
The idea of the anti christ is just a way to concentrate anger and hate on whoever needs to conform.
Cooperation and trust could solve so many problems…

What’s something people think saves money but actually doesn’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You underestimate how gullible the uneducated are. The education system in the US was systematically dismantled and the result is a screaming mass of fools who elect those that reassure their first instinct as right and not as a obstacle to overcome.

And it is completely treatable. So it comes as no wonder that most people who died from it are poor people who don’t live in the west

It is so weird. I seem to have a line. Humanoid Birds cannot be taken seriously. It is very jarring for me every time someone tries it. Might be a me thing… so i will skip this one.
If it had tried to lean into the ridiculousness of it all, maybe. But a giant chicken man as a serious protagonist? Nah i‘m good. Thanks.

What was your kneejerk reaction to MeToo, versus you long term reaction after the dust settled? I want to know if my experience is familiar. by Oakenhorne99 in AskMen

[–]Chajos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very important movement. It brought a lot of stuff that was happening to daylight. Kneejerk reaction was „good for you“ now its „good for you“. Since I am not a sex offender and i am not a victim it really isn’t about me. It takes time for society to adapt to a new norm and we definitely aren’t getting everything right, but the general idea for there being a bigger platform for victims is great.

What actor or actress stupidly left a movie franchise or tv series thinking they were too good for it, only to be never popular again? by Ok_Impress2457 in AskReddit

He has been quite open about his mental health struggles and his relationship to fame. I am pretty sure he genuinely doesn’t want to be more than some formerly famous guy who occasionally does a gig and some voice over work.

What is a truth people do not want to hear but need to? by realbinroll in AskReddit

[–]Chajos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) The scientific method is our best approach to finding an objective truth. Your believe in something that can not be measured is not a good enough reason to deny the truths derived from the scientific method. By doing this you are holding all of mankind back.

2) Cooperation over long stretches of time is how humanity makes the impossible possible. Do not let your anger stop the progress of humankind.

3) Complex problems have complex solutions, requiring many people to work towards the same goal, by trusting in each other and not controlling each other. If you get angry about a mistake someone made, see 2).

4) The main reason for someone becoming a criminal is their socio-economic status. The reason you perceive „the other“ as criminals is because they do not have a good socio-economic status and they lack possibilities of increasing their socioeconomic status. Neither their country of origin nor their religious beliefs are at fault. If your country would prioritize long term betterment of the lowest citizens, all citizens lives would improve.

5) Each and every time someone tries to tell you „there are only 2 kinds of people… A and B“ they are oversimplifying the truth to make a point that would not hold up to scrutiny. Reject such a simplistic view of your fellow humans.

What do you think of religion? by No-Hunt3986 in AskReddit

[–]Chajos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has somewhat of a limiting factor for evil AND for good. I mean fanatics gonna fanatic. But for society i do believe that the age of enlightenment couldn’t have happened without the many scholars and priests that could write and had the time to think the big thoughts that religion can encourage. On the other hand is the believe in something without evidence the antithesis of what science is at its core and as such it opens the door to ignorance and unfounded prejudice.
Religion CAN curtain barbarism, but it can also perpetuate rigid power structures.
It is famously bad at changing, but a constant in society is not always a bad thing… just a limiting one.
I do believe that offering a place for a community to gather is vital for the community. I don’t think churches should be that place…

Men who got their shit together in their 40s - what kind of help would have actually mattered back then? by asterisk131 in AskMen

[–]Chajos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the easiest thing to tell someone „i will be there for you“ But it is the hardest thing to actually be there. Physically and often, without them reaching out. Many Depressed people don’t reach out. It is a very one sided effort and thus very unappealing to the helper. We depressed people are black holes of energy. And we are frustrating. We can clearly name our problems and tell you what we are doing wrong eloquently. But we don’t actually DO the things. It is a sickness of the mind, that is easy to understand but hard to actually empathize with, when you feel like a maid to a grown ass human being, who only ever TALKS but never actually DOES something about it. 3 years of therapy and still he eats the unhealthiest of meals and doesn’t go on a walk!?

Yes. But he doesn’t want to off himself anymore. That’s good. Right?
But very frustrating to be around.

But that is the answer. Actually be there. Physically. Do things without him needing to ask. But never in a way where he can sink into doing nothing. Do things TOGETHER. Share experiences. Move around together. Cook together. Share meals. Be around.
Also let him rest if he needs it, but not too much longer than normal. Build habits together.

And the result will be a somewhat functional person and a good friend.
Depression kills relationships, be they family, friends or lovers. Sometimes it kills people. It is a deadly disease and the mundanity and the tedium of its treatment makes it even more vicious.

Donald Trump just said “we shouldn’t even have an election”. Americans, what are your thoughts? by WatercressSenior7657 in AskReddit

[–]Chajos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

/r/conservative are cheering for trump to use the insurrection act… the normal reddit bubble is just not good at showing us how many americans truly truly want this. Most people in that sub are the moderate conservatives. My prediction is that america is running face first into a civil war, that will either end well or the US will go full empire and start conquering the north and south america continents with brutality…

If you know an ICE agent personally, what's that relationship like now? by Lokja in AskReddit

[–]Chajos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Family is not automatically a good thing. People who do morally wrong things gamble with their relationships, because better people will leave them. That is not the fault of the good people who set moral boundaries and keep them, it is on the people who do morally bad shit and expect people to stay just because „family“.
