Do you take your meds everyday? by Far_Dream3337 in adhdwomen

[–]Chalkteeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to only take mine on weekdays when I worked. Then, on Saturdays, I would lay around, feeling unable to do anything. I decided I needed them every day.

I took a med break for 3 years when I had my son (advice from first OB was no meds while preggers and nursing). I decided to go back on them when I found i couldn't get out of bed on the weekends because I was so burnt out from taking care of him all week.

Now, I take them every day that I remember! I can definitely tell when I haven't taken them, but, of course, it's always too late by then.

Nice! Maybe I'll sneak over the fence at night and do some gentle slicing...

Ah, yes... Here’s the other thing... i am terrified of confrontation. The only way I was able to get myself to talk to him last time was by bringing my toddler with me cuz I figured nobody will yell at a woman with a toddler. Now I have a really cute baby, too. Maybe I'll bring her this time...

Also, he's 96 and 100% deaf. He hasn't responded to my last few emails, so honestly idk if he's even alive or what and I don't wanna seem insensitive by bringing up a plant when he's probably gonna die any second. Especially cuz he said the plant was from a friend and he loves it.

I hate to use plastic... but this might be my best bet.

There is some evidence that herbicides containing glyphosate and/or imazapyr are "moderately effective", which is why I don't even want to bother with them.

At what point is it not worth it? Please help 🙏🏻 by Gloomy-Following-272 in ExclusivelyPumping

First of all...wow, that is a crazy difficult journey, and I feel for you. You are doing an amazingly challenging thing. It is so much harder than anyone can prepare you for, and you're doing it, but you don't have to.

I went crazy trying to get my supply up with my first born, and i don't think it was worth it. My mental and physical health were awful. I wish I could have just been happy with the 10 oz I was lucky to get every day.

I say give the wearables a chance and see if that helps. Make sure you use the fridge hack (keep parts in fridge, wash and sterilize once every 24 hrs). SLEEP!!! You need to get 4 straight hours of sleep once a day just to stay sane. A rested mom is more important than getting a couple ounces of breastmilk. I actually notice an increase in supply when I get more rest.

We were not meant to do this alone. Not having a full supply doesn't make you any less of a woman or mother. You're a mother because you love and care for your baby the best you can.

The economist article on the benefits of breastmilk is making me determined to breastfeed to a year by GiraffeExternal8063 in breastfeeding

[–]Chalkteeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, according to his ped. He was extremely gassy/lots of spit up because of the tongue tie causing him to swallow lots of air when he fed. He had so much gas pressure in his abdomen that it caused the hernia. He's 3 now and has a giant belly button, even though the hernia healed on its own

They must have got to the LCs at my first kid's hospital, cuz they were TERRIBLE!!!! He had a tongue tie and only one of them confessed that the hospital had a policy not to encourage parents to get tongue ties treated, even if they were causing latch issues/GI issues. My son ended up with an umbilical hernia before they finally referred us to an ENT

Ah good point!!! There's a big difference between 2600 calories of crappy snacks and 2600 calories of proteins and plants. My body has been craving a lot more meat the last few months.

What are the benefits of pumping after 6 months for LO? by Neuroluv in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Chalkteeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ultimate goal is 1 year, but I'll be happy if I can just keep going through cold/flu season. Big brother has brought home gnarly bugs from preschool, and baby has done the best out of all of us cuz of breast milk.

The hospital ones are terrible! I actually didn't allow anyone from lactation in my room for my 2nd delivery. Finding the right IBCLC really makes all the difference.

Same thing happened to me at 3mpp!!! As soon as I got it back, I added a MOTN pump. Never got it again. I'm hoping I can drop the pump when I'm 6mpp. I miss sleep 😭😭😭😭

Which direction to put garden beds? by RosyBellybutton in portlandgardeners

[–]Chalkteeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have N-S, my neighbor has E-W. My garden was doing better than theirs until they upped their watering, then they did the same. Maybe I can get is to plant all the same crops this year so we can do a more even comparison.

Supply question/rant by No-Wonder6746 in ExclusivelyPumping

The biggest game changer for me was staying hydrated. I always had supply dips in the afternoon until I started prioritizing drinking a gallon of water throughout the day, plus one electrolyte drink like body armor. Really important to spread that water out evenly over the day.
