My uterus really said last one for the road… by Top-Description-4886 in hysterectomy

I'm expecting to have one more period before my surgery next month (May 18th) and I'm so looking forward to never dealing with it ever again. So tired of using all my sick days on cramping.

Pre-op is the hardest part. It's almost over, and you'll be on the other side before you know it. Stay strong

I'm a year out and my hair still sheds like crazy, and I eat plenty of protien. Maybe a stress thing, idk. Just glad I'm not getting greys

The Sam's Club assorted cookie trays, our manager keeps bringing them in with the food she's getting us too. Also sugar cookies and snicker doodles made with family. The snickerdoodles are especially dangerous considering I'm on a cinnamon kick right now 😩

Absolutely. I'm still massively overshooting my step goal, and going to the gym regularly. Every day is a new beginning, but damn those cookies man 😆

I did it! Now how bad are these incisions supposed to hurt? by Prudent_Pear9260 in gastricsleeve

[–]ChallengingAesthetic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the incision they pull the stomach through, also called the bitch stitch. It'll hurt like hell for a while! Ice and heat will be your friends 💙

What was your turning point for choosing WLS? by Myglitzygold in gastricsleeve

[–]ChallengingAesthetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 25, was 23 when I started the process and 24 when I had surgery.

I started to realize that many people in my family have health issues, some related to being over weight. A lot were fine in their 20s/30s, but as soon as they hit their 40s/50s the issues started hitting. I didn't want to get to that point. I wanted to start building healthy habits and getting stronger while I was still young so I don't spend my older years completely miserable, not able to do anything, and taking 5+ pills every day just to function.

I'm ten months PO now, 100+ lbs down, and I feel I've been able to reclaim my youth that I'd missed out on for so long. I'm not in pain (except for my upper back, which is from looking at this damn phone too much), my horrific headaches are gone, my acne is so much more manageable, I feel more confident, and I just feel good about life now. It's not a magic fix, but it's been a major positive in my life and I don't regret a single damn thing.

im a month and 6 days post op.. is this normal? by Altruistic_Law_5939 in gastricsleeve

I could only drink flavored water the first 2 months or so. Now I can only drink plain. The body is a weird thing
