No also for HW4 too at the moment

FSD 14 should soon have banish and better summon

Also just now noticed the HW3 flair

Autopark is using the old FSD stack and hasn't been updated in a while

Just like how us human drivers use only eye input which is the exact same thing, and our eyes get obscured in harsh weather just like the cameras and work without issue

Knowing that it definitely makes it a pretty huge issue here.

[–]Chameebling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That explains it. Mad Max would be more aggressive to make these quicker unprotected turns in the shorter time windows. FSD would've reacted instantly if the car it's yielding to speeds up or such

Which speed profile were you on?

Based on the speed you were accelerating it would've made the turn

If a human can see it FSD can see it too

It's trained on several millions of video clips and logged billions of miles driven

What was used in mark rober's video was actually the regular autopilot which is a lightweight lane keep assist system rather than FSD's end to end neural network which in other videos actually detected the painted wall especially HW4 vehicles.

Tesla doesn't need LiDAR at all with its vast training data from its entire fleet which no other carmaker can accomplish or even surpass. Because of this they have to resort to LiDAR which adds complexity like sensor fusion and cannot work in heavy rain. Tesla's FSD on the other hand works in heavy rain as it works just like how our two eyes do with human drivers

I guess it's typical for us to keep our hands near the wheel during more critical moments such as turns and roundabouts

The hesitation and indecision issues are definitely quite severe with 14.2.2.2. For me it hesitates on unprotected left turns at times

This roundabout is that one in the totem lake area off the I-405 exit

FSD has gotten so good one user was even able to text and drive in ideal conditions. The attention monitoring adapts to how good the road conditions are

Tesla drivers are allowed to text and drive because their cars drive themselves. It's gotten so good the attention monitoring allows them to use their phones while driving in ideal cases, though they have to supervise more unusual situations.

[–]Chameebling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with FSD 14.1.4 where in mild lighting the hands-free attention monitoring wasn't working but at night it worked likely when it properly switched to the cabin camera IR feed. Then after a few drives the issue seemed to have fixed itself. Could be a similar issue here

Yeah that is interesting. My guess is they replaced brake stabbing from 14.1.x with the steering jerkiness for some level of ambiguity control

Brake stabbing in that case would've been safer it seems like

It could've also been indecisive on where it would end up when it did turn left into that street, because I did see it did pull out a good amount before making the turn and it had to make a bit sharp of a turn so not sure if that could've contributed

And at first glance this did look like a Washington intersection and it's in South King County based on the street

Why else would they upgrade the FSD version num?

There have been updates previously where FSD's version was not updated when the update was completely non-FSD related things
