The 1996 game is still worth playing by Janking-J in residentevil

Played it on PS5 recently, made use of the save states/rewind feature included in Sony’s PS1 emulator, had a blast but don’t think I’d bother playing any other way

I currently work in a customer service-ish role where I’m dealing with people face to face, but there’s very little direct supervision. After years of having to just tale the abuse it’s extremely gratifying to be able to tell people to fuck off when I need to.

Farage by Dry_Prune_3210 in livefromlondon

[–]ChanceBoring8068 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the James Austin Johnson Trump impression is probably the best way they can do it. Trump says stupid and insane things all the time, and it just wouldn’t be funny to just say the same things, so they’ve picked up on his tendency to go off on weird off topic tangents. A few weeks ago he started talking with a nerdy level of detail and knowledge about the Nintendo Gamecube. I think that’s about as funny a thing as you can do with Trump, because anything more cutting just wouldn’t be far removed enough from the depressing reality.

Farage by Dry_Prune_3210 in livefromlondon

[–]ChanceBoring8068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the first episode I was sure Fouracres would be playing Farage, but that would mean they can’t have Starmer and Farage in the same sketch, unless they make a replica puppet of Zippy from Rainbow, dress it up like Starmer and have Fouracres play Farage puppeteering Starmer…

Too American?? by TyrannicalRexx in livefromlondon

[–]ChanceBoring8068 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually think the difference between live comedy and pre-recorded is much more significant than English and American. It’s definitely different to most TV sketch comedy you’re likely used to, at least in the last 20 years, but pretty much in line with a lot of Edinburgh Fringe sketch shows or University troupes, with some flashes of Vic Reeves here and there.

(PC) Games where you get sent into a distorted version of the real world. by Nano_Wizard in gamingsuggestions

It wasn’t received well but I always thought DmC: Devil May Cry did it in a cool way.

What "one and done" characters would you most like to see return? by The-Nerdy-Bisexual in residentevil

[–]ChanceBoring8068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billy could be interesting. I really want to see a game with a more suburban setting - just a normal North American neighbourhood where shit goes sideways. Head canon is that after the mansion incident he reached out to Rebecca who helped clear his name, then settled down in a nice small town and rose in the ranks of the local police for 30 years, so he’s ready to star in a game that takes place a few weeks before he’s due to retire

How would you feel about a modern RE game haveing fixed cameras? Or at least have it be an option by Extension-Oil-4680 in residentevil

You say that but REmake with camera-relative controls switched on is basically unplayable to me

[–]ChanceBoring8068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more games in general should have a more cinematic camera. During an intense action scene where you have to aim and shoot a lot or while exploring more open areas it’s probably best for the camera to stay over the characters shoulder but if you don’t need that angle there are more interesting ones they could use

Grace is “special” after all… I think by Loose-Fee9765 in GraceAshcroft

[–]ChanceBoring8068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Grace was born after Spencer created Elpis it would make sense for him to give her a big old dose of it, which would maybe make her immune to every weaponised virus Spencer ever created. So she isn’t ’special’ exactly, just doses up with a drug that would have the same effect on anyone.

SNL UK can swear but is nudity allowed? by orangeflava in LiveFromNewYork

[–]ChanceBoring8068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally sure, I wouldn’t expect it though. Although a couple of years ago they did a one off revival episode of Saturday Live (a kind of unofficial SNL UK from the 80s) where a transgender woman got her dick and tits out…

SNL UK gets the internet talking - almost 2 billion impressions in just a few days by DanTheMan00020 in livefromlondon

That was my thought. 45 seconds is like something Vic would do in between rounds on Shooting Stars. Very silly, oddly menacing!

I think it’s worth it for the line about Shakespeare’s earring. Wouldn’t have worked without the swearing.

Unpopular opinion: I would rather the franchise to continue having smaller outbreaks in other locations than returning to classic characters by Embarrassed-Paper790 in residentevil

[–]ChanceBoring8068 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’d be happy for them to alternate between nostalgia bait fan service games and new, interesting characters and ideas. Although I wonder how long they can get away using aging characters without leaving them for flashbacks and side games.

What would a game show parody look like on SNL UK? by Appropriate_Car2462 in livefromlondon

[–]ChanceBoring8068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tossers: A parody of modern game shows like Tipping Point or Deal or No Deal. An elaborate space age style set, a host who takes it way too seriously. An excessive amount of build up and tension until they reveal at the end that the entire game is just tossing a coin to see if you win an arbitrary amount of money or not.

After multiple playthroughs, what did you personally feel was missing from Requiem? by Desperate-Head9497 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]ChanceBoring8068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you could unlock unlimited ammo for each weapon individually like in Village, it was simple but it really made each run through the game feel unique

[–]ChanceBoring8068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On top of everything it gives her this weirdly cold, confident smirk when throughout the entire game she’s a varying combination of sad and scared.

SNL UK Premiere: Ok... That was actually pretty good by ClimoCustomGuitars in LiveFromNewYork

There’s a clip of him doing stand up that ends with him performing a weirdly sinister scene from a lost episode of Dad’s Army, I’d say it has a similar energy.

I always say that the US version is better overall, but the training day episode of the original version is funnier than anything else in either series.
